I was remiss in not mentioning the incident when Craig Adams thought that he was an extra in the Last of the Mohicans and tried to scalp Alex Steen.
Anyway, he picked up a two game suspension as the Hurricanes look to become the Flyers South. This suspension comes after Scott Walker got a game for headbutting Mike Fisher.
Adams' suspension likely won't be mentioned much considering his comes on the same day that Chris Simon was given a thirty game suspension for his latest act of buffoonery. The guy should be out of the NHL but it's nice to see him get another shot [rolls eyes].
As for Adams, he didn't even have the 'I got a concussion and was totally out of it' excuse that Simon used prior to getting a 25 game rest from work. The Hurricane was lucky that nothing happened to Steen or he might have been given the kind of suspension that he deserves. If the NHL wants to get rid of the stickwork the answer does not lie with losing the instigator penalty as Kypreos and Watters stupidly tried to argue (thankfully Darren Millard pointed out that Simon has played all of his career without the instigator so it's a moot point to say that it would rein that animal in) but in punishing the seemingly innocuous (at least in the eyes of the refs who didn't even give Adams a five minute major) more harshly. If Adams got 5-10 games players would take notice. Too bad the Wheel of Justice landed on two. And Simon is still in the NHL. What a joke.
