TSN needs better people
Yesterday I saw Damien Cox on TSN. Giving advise on TSN. Having people have to put up with him on TSN. It sucks.
They have Bob "I SCREAM REALLY LOUD TO MAKE YOU LISTEN TO ME" Mackenzie, and then Pierre "I SCREAM TO BE LIKE BOB BUT NO NOTHING ABOUT HOCKEY" MacGuire. Duthie is a decent emcee, but that's about it. And now they are asking Damien Cox to come on TV? The guys is bald, with 5" thick BLACK eyebrows. Let's call it a "newpaper" face. Or maybe tabloid. Newspaper sounds too proper and journalistic for him.
I miss John Davidson at times like this.

Sportsnet
Had the hotter anchors…

Too bad they also have the dumber staff. Kypreos and Brophy? God help us.

She looks like a man!
Although Sportsnet dropped off my radar once Jody Vance left, she basically was Sportsnet but don’t they have Martin Guillard (sp?) now?

EPIC FAIL
The real slam against Hedger is that she lets Sean McCormick sleep with her.
Jody Vance is a fox in glasses. She is the hot teacher fantasy in a sportscaster role.

I loved the old Sportsnet days with Jody Vance
And that glass desk, damned I loved that thing, and her legs too!

TSN is miles ahead of Sportsnet in my opinion. MacGuire can be annoying, especially when he screams “THIS GUY IS A MONSTER” every 30 seconds, but you can’t say he knows nothing about hockey – he has the background to back it up. I’ve always liked Mackenzie and agree with LeafFanInVan that he probably just maxes out his volume to be heard.
Damien Cox on TV is never a good thing, it’s hard enough to read the guy, seeing his face just amps up the annoying factor.
What do you guys think of the Score? They’ve improved their look in the last few months but they still come off as second rate. I could have sworn they shot in someone’s basement by looking at the lighting setup and sets. The improved sets are better but still pretty cheesy.
The Score
Is what ESPN was about 15 years ago I think. I like it because it’s different, it’s goofy, it’s what a highlight show run by buddies might look like.
I go there for the ticker and laughs.
I go to TSN for news.
I go to Sportsnet if TSN is showing boxing and The Score is showing wrestling.

heh. Any “sports” station that shows wrestling is moot in my books. But the Score does have the best ticker.
Wrasslin’ was on TSN before it moved to the score I believe..

Forget wrestling – all the sports networks show POKER. At least there is some athletic ability needed to be a pro wrestler.
Very true. The worst is when the local team is blacked out (especially with CFL games on TSN) and they’re showing poker instead. That’s just insulting!

TSN is miles ahead of both Sporsnet and the Score.
Have you ever seen Onrait and O’Toole do Sportscentre together? It’s like “Weekend Update” for sports.
Tortorella is great too. Before his first show on the panel one of my buddies wished up luck, and Torts sad “Thanks, I hope I don’t f*** it up”

I do love Onrait and O’Toole. Funny guys and smart eye candy are a great combo.
