Wilson seems to think...

that Carlo is fat… and Steen hasn’t been doing so hot, but I think he’s been a lot better lately (I think he looked really good on Saturday.)

by Karina on Nov 24, 2008 1:38 PM EST up reply actions

Well

It’s not a trade for youth, they are all about the same age. It’s not a salary dump, we have so much cap space left. We are already pretty thin in the forward ranks, although Stemp and Steen are about the same in terms of performance (Lee is killing Steen in production but Alex is having a bad year) and We kinda need coco-puff we’re dreadfully thin on the D and after that Finger performance on Saturday I think a little depth to give some players a rest is a good idea…so I re-iterate WHY!?!

Although, I have a feeling you’re right Karina

Easy

with him out with an injury, and them calling up Schneider, who’s been the top goalie in the AHL, they’re gonna have an extra NHL goalie soon…

But it would have been nearly impossible for someone to beat me to the punch.

It took me 35 seconds to write a fanpost after hearing about it.

Dirty Rumour

This is much different than breaking the trade, and is actually just being thrown about carelessly by people who dont have any credibility, BUT:

People are discussing the possibilty that with Burke being in town, he could have played a part in this, in the very least, asked his opinion before the trade went through

Keep in mind: People love to say things like this that have no actual basis, just to spark conversations

This is sad

I’ve always liked Steen, him and Stajan were like BFF’s

they’re getting rid of all of Stajan’s friends… first Welly, now Steen…

Maybe

Trying to get rid of bad influences? Although I’ll hardly call Steen a bad influence… I mean Tucker wasn’t that great awhile back but as soon as they dumped Shayne Corson, Tucker’s production jumped waaaaay up. Although I don’t think Stajan’s production is anything to gripe at these days.

Upon further review

I kind of like this trade. Stempniak has been a pretty big assists guy on a very low scoring team…I’m just hoping that his +/- is because the blues are almost as bad as the Leafs are when it comes to GA

Anyone watch this? I didn’t PVR it and the constant commercials were too infuriating to stick with. I did catch Kiefer snapping some dudes neck with his legs though, awesome.

i gave up 24 for heroes...

kind of a personal rule of mine, not to tape more tv than i can watch in a day…

starting to think i made the wrong choice though, heroes was awesome first season, but it’s gone down hill…

oh I know

I have massive hate for this Sylar/Elle thing. That whole season last episode with them was just disgusting. I hope they turn it around with Evil Daddy, I like him.

by Karina on Nov 24, 2008 3:40 PM EST up reply actions

simple solution...

more Hiro and Peter…

i think the problem they ran into with Peter was, he just had the ability to be too darn powerful, and they’ve now given that to sylar. sylar’s one weakness was that, to gain a power, he’d have to kill someone, and that may not always be successful. peter just has to be around them, and now Sylar just has to share his feelings with them?

Hiro is by far the lone bright spot still, Peter is way more awesome with his powers, than as this jaded anti-hero thing they’re trying to do…

Heroes has gone wayyyyyy downhill. Sad, really. If the next episode doesn’t improve I’m taking it off my PVR record queue.. CSI: Miami too, I used to enjoy the cheesy nature of it (and the gorgeous cinematics of miami – looks amazing in HD) but now it’s just lame.

Perhaps it’s time to give other shows, like Fringe or Life on Mars a chance..

I think

Peter will eventually get back his powers, after whatever happens to give him that face scar.

I really want Sylar to go away. And I’m mad he’s playing spock! Grrr. Leave your shirt on, pinner.

I find myself more interested in the parents of these people than the actual heroes. And frankly, I find Hiro incredibly annoying. How does he go back to thinking he’s 10 and act exactly the same as when he’s an adult?

I miss the days of cool Heroes… :(

The only other show I watch regularly is Lost, and I have to wait a couple of months for that. Although, my husband got me into Survivor this season, and did you see that double cross last episode? Brilliant!

by Karina on Nov 24, 2008 4:28 PM EST up reply actions

anti-reality

and Hiro just had the 10 year old thing happen, up until then, he was still the best thing going.

this whole season feels like they have absolutely no idea about what to do in regards to plot…he’s bad, he’s good, he’s dead, he’s alive, he has no powers, he has all powers!

Ok, blurr needs to vent...

boss sends me an email saying that to fix issue X, we need to do Y (details aren’t important…) I respond by asking how Y fixes X when the problem is with A and B. She said it doesn’t, that she’s talking about Y fixing X.

Confused? Infuriated. A little bit of both? all of the above. Bob Geldof said it best, “I don’t like Mondays”

by blurr1974 on Nov 24, 2008 5:22 PM EST reply actions

Haha

sounds like your boss doesn’t like being questioned. Frustrating!!!! Try doing y, then show her how it doesn’t fix X. Then suggest looking at A & B. But be very nice and polite about it all. If possible, make her think it was her idea (like, well clearly, if it’s not X, then by process of elimination, it must be A and B).

My stupid program isn’t working!

Where can I buy...

a 2009 Leafs calendar? Please keep in mind that I live in Vancouver.

As well, have you noticed the rules on shop.nhl.com about customizing your jersey with a player’s name? Basically one says that I can’t customize my jersey to have the name/number of a player who retired in that team’s jersey. So I want a woman’s jersey, and to put Clark – 17 on it and it won’t let me!

Leaf Shirts

I am annoyed that Barbarian no longer has the license for NHL teams. My Leafs rugby shirt is on its last legs (literally, the collar is coming off – and these are built to last!) but I cannot get a replacement there anymore.. Their last remainders are not in my size! BOO!

I’m not a jersey buyer, but I need some way to show leafs pride!
