My thinking is at this point, give Pogge a shot.

I still say, I am sure if you ask the Chiefs nicely you can borrow Tokarski….

Tokarski
Is number one in the WHL, which is an unfamiliar number in Leafsland recently. Though I still give Tokarski -1 for being helplessly drafted by Tampa. Seriously, Tokarski needs to save Toronto somehow.
I honestly feel that Tampa won’t do much for him since they drafted some giant goalie a round or two before him. The giant goalie is something like 6’6. And they are miffed that Toka is 5’11. So I don’t feel Tampa will take the time and develop him. Despite their numerous goaltending snafus.

I want to say he’s Russian. Possibly another Ivan Drago.
But he could easily be Finn. I think Tampa’s goalie situation is solved for the near future right with Mike Smith. Tokarski’s ceiling in Tampa right now is back-up with the way Smith is playing (spectacularly, I have to add). But I won’t put anything past Tampa and the OK corral running the team. I’m sure they’ll insist on playing Martin St. Louis in net one of these days.
White for Tokarski!

.869!
Ah, just like the good old days of Rick St. Croix and the cast of thousands in the Leaf goal.

Most horrifying groin injury ever.

At last check, he's playing in the ECHL
He’s just ho-hum at this point. I think he may have been or still is injured.
Oh yes
What happened to him anyway?

I don’t think he’s playing hockey anymore. Possibly in the beer leagues if I had to venture a guess.
playingg in the CHL...
as in “Central Hockey League”

Well, he’ll always have that start against Detroit.
If Reimer develops into a backup goalie, I’ll be quite happy.
And his one game in a Leafs jersey
Wasn’t in a Leafs jersey.
It was the St. Pats game.

Looking at the numbers at James Mirtle’s blog, there are a LOT of teams getting lousy goaltending. Dallas is in the dumper with us, and even Calgary has lousy numbers.
Something in the water this year?

I was thinking that too. Like goalies are having bad year. Or more players have voodoo dolls. And if you want to believe in karma or something, perhaps all this could swing the other way next season. Hockey Jesus could break his leg next year.

Save percentages are down a bit all over, but some goalies like Thomas have been phenomenal. I wonder if the equipment changes have had any effect or if it’s a matter of there being more power plays.
by James Mirtle on Nov 26, 2008 2:26 PM EST up reply actions
I think someone just found their next post!
I would probably guess that it’s a result of more powerplays since that was the reason for the uptick is scoring before.

The equipment may be playing into it if goalies now have to move more than they are used to and/or come out a little further than they have in the past to get the same coverage. For someone like Thomas, he’s so all-over-the-place that he probably could go out there wearing rolled-up newspapers and not notice the difference.
