not me
That is pretty cool – and I like t-shirts, because they are less expensive and not the god-awful baby pink that the NHL seems to think is appropriate for all females – even if they aren’t 12 years old.
Jerseys are far out of my budget, alas.
"A vacuum is a hell of a lot better than some of the stuff that nature replaces it with." -- Tennessee Williams
jerseys are
too expensive for me too (that’s why the only one I have was a gift). I would like some sort of a long sleeved dealy for layering, since I’m cold much of the time. I’d also like some sort of hoodie that was less than 50 dollars without looking bad
I’m digging this hoodie, but not for 90 bucks
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
Agreed
90$ is too pricey for my blood, but other than that, it is quite spiffy.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
except
the only size available is extra large :/ so even if it weren’t 90 bucks, it wouldn’t work. But it’s still quite sharp looking
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
Well, if we both wore it at the same time, it would fit. Plus, we’d only have to spend 45+tax each….
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
this is true, but then there’s shipping…plus I don’t really like people RIGHT next to me
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
Oh fine. I guess I’ll give up on the dream. And yeah, I like my personal space too.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
but
at least then we wouldn’t be cold :)
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
See?
Bright side to everything. Of course, us not living in the same city would make it a bit of a challenge, but I think we’re up to it.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
yeah
us not living in the same city hampers it quite a bit
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
this is bordering on NSFW
and I like it.

Well, we can brainstorm ideas to see if there is any way to to work it out. I really want it.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
I don't know how
tall you are, but you may be able to wear that as a dress, if you really wanted to do so.
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
I'm really tall
5’3" is tall, right?
(Just humour me, I like living this lie)
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
if 5’3 is tall, I’m a friggen giant at 5’9

… but then I’m just 5’2", so I’m always “the petite brunette” in the room.

I'm Huge!
thats what she said

by JaredFromLondon on Nov 29, 2008 6:46 PM EST up reply actions
I'm the tiny person in the family
Everyone else is at least 5’7". If I sound bitter, it is because I am.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
My mom = 5’7"
My dad = 5’11"
My brothers = 6’0" and 6’1"
My youngest sister = 5’10"
My other sister is 5’3", so although I am the oldest of five, I am also the shortest.
Could be worse, I suppose – everyone tells me I don’t look 38, but the problem is that it makes me very uncomfortable when a 20-something hits on me.

But I’m not as young as I used to be. Plus, I need to be sober for curling tonight.

Yup
Winners buy first round, losers the second. Booze is a major part of curling, but I find I’m much better when not tanked.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
Mabel, have you ever
read “Tales of a Curling Hack” by Doug Maxwell? It’s quite fun, if I could I’d give it to you

No, I haven't
I’ll look for it though. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh, no, you're on
I’m in TO. But on the 14th, I’m sadly locked into a major family event that if I missed, would result in me being hung, drawn and quartered.

Other people? Maybe. I’ve only done it once (and that was because we were getting our asses handed to us, so we decided to start doing tequila shots mid-game) and it ended….badly.

The worst part?
Was maybe that after a number of shots, we decided to start singing the song ‘Tequila’ and dancing as we sang. That’s an image I’m sure people watching us could have lived without.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
I got more booze today because I pretty much finished off what I had last night. They carded me at the SAQ (Qc government run liquor store) It’s weird—my first 2.5 years here I got carded like3 times. in the past year and a half I’ve been carded at least that many times. How can I be more suspicious the older I get?
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
Enjoy it while you can
A few years ago, I was on my lunch at work, and stopped in at the LCBO in our building (did I mention I loved that job?) In front of me in line were two girls, probably from the uni down the street, and they wanted to buy beer. When asked for their id, they said they didn’t have it with them, and wanted to buy the beer now, and bring id later. After the clerk finished laughing, I came up with my bottles, and had my id handy, just in case (I don’t look my age) and she said to me, and I quote “You’d be just thrilled to pieces if I asked you for your id”. Now, as I was in no way even close to being over 30, I showed her my id. She couldn’t look at me while she rang through my purchases.
To sum up: I used to hate being carded, but I hate the whole “you’d love it if I carded you” thing more.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
I don't hate getting carded
it’s just that I hardly used to at 18, why would I look younger after some years? I mean, unless Quebec’s trying to crack down on not asking for IDs or something…
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
i bet you wouldnt get carded asking for smokes

They are probably just trying to make up
for all the booze they sold my school band on our trip to Montreal. When I was 14. And bought booze at a depanneur, along with all my other severely underage pals, and then we all got so drunk within the first hour of us being there that the chaperones wanted to cancel the trip.
"Hootenanny? Well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny"
oh boy
any underage trips I took over the border they watched us like hawks. Thanks for ruining that chance for me
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
thats why you pay one kid to act really bad at the start of the trip so they focus on him while you have fun.
