Neither Sundin nor Tucker wanted to be traded.

Both exercised their contractual rights.

One saddled the team with a cap hit.

That’s the only difference.

Tucker walks away clean and Sundin is still having shots taken at him.

Check your bingo card again…Tucker screwed the Leafs twice (no trade, cap hit). Sundin screwed the Leafs once (no trade). You can root for the little weasel all you want, but his decisions hurt the Leafs more than Sundin. And when you factor in what both of these guys contributed to the franchise, there should be a whole world of hate for #16.

I do feel annoyed that Sundin decided to go the route he did at the trade deadline (and I bet Kaberle, McCabe, Tucker and Kubina definitely followed his lead) but maybe he really did feel that way at the time? I honestly don’t think he’d do anything intentionally to screw the leafs. He might’ve changed his mind after he got engaged or whatever but at the time I think he did feel as though he should play the whole year and all that.

But if it turns out the rest of the players didn’t waive because Sundin didn’t waive and now we find out Sundin will play half-way … I don’t know, I’m a little pissed. I still love Sundin though.
