The Dasher
This is going to be a new regular feature around here. We know you're all Leafs fans but occasionally interesting stuff happens in hockey that doesn't involve the Leafs. Here at SBNation we have a lot of great team specific blogs, so I'm happy to introduce the Dasher, where we'll link interesting stuff on other blogs for you guys to check out.

So I will say
that giving up two goals to the Canucks means the Wings are playing some Woz-level defence.
HEYO!
Wait you mean to say that there are other cities other than Toronto?
My images of us being the center of the universe are shattered!

That’s why were have to make links the next afternoon. Can’t stay up late enough to watch teams that don’t matter play. Until the playoffs of course but being a zombie for two months is well worth it.
Plus, it makes the playoffs that much more interesting when teams are huge surprises.

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this, but...
The New York Times (not an SB Nation outlet – yet) has it’s North Eastern Division preview up: http://slapshot.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/11/03/hockey-night-in-blogdom-morning-in-the-northeast/
If you stripped the Sens logo off their write up and removed the line about Marsh’s bar, I would never have guessed Ottawa: beautiful building, knowledgeable fans? The Montreal one is so narcissistic that it could only come from one place.

Hey! I recognize that Leafs blogger!
Wait, has it always been called Hockey Night in Blogdom?

The best thing about going to a game at your team’s rink?
There is nothing bad about going to a game at Le Centre Bell. To step within its walls is to experience a deep spiritual ecstasy the likes of which cannot be felt in any other modern arena. It is, quite sincerely, paradise.
Ummmmm…do they know that the Habs play in the Bell Centre now?

Congrats Bitter!
That Sens one was priceless.
’Watching Leafs fans fill our arena four times a year and boo our captain off his “home” ice would have been more accurate.
Maybe the little matter of the 5-0 curbstomping last year escaped his memory.

I found it interesting that two of Paul’s points touched on the Leafs (why bother?).
At least he didn’t go the e-z joke route and use “laffs”, “parade” or “1967” in the 150 or so words that we were alloted.

kudos!
way to represent. However, I was disapointed to see not a mention of 1967, crayons, or parade route planning…

Every preview except yours was absolutely terrible.
The best thing about going to a game at your team’s rink?
The new pregame introduction video they have. It gets fans so pumped for the game.
Jesus Christ.

We're urged to "bring the funny"
but not everyone does…
Actually, I have no idea what the other bloggers are encouraged to bring. Maybe the Habs fan got an email urging him to bring the sactimonious, ’cause he sure delivered.

Bring the boring crap nobody wants to read. I literally know nothing about the division or its teams except that everyone likes the team they wrote about.

The Habs one made me throw up in my mouth a little. Jesus H Christ.
Let’s all promise that when the Leafs are kicking ass to not sound like a complete set of douchebags like those Habs fans.
Are you kidding me? We’re going to be the most insufferable fans on the face of the planet. We’re earning it right now.

At the very least we should not manufacture any prose like this:
There is nothing bad about going to a game at Le Centre Bell. To step within its walls is to experience a deep spiritual ecstasy the likes of which cannot be felt in any other modern arena. It is, quite sincerely, paradise.
Very clunky sounding. Perhaps it sounds better in lez franseyz
I Promise
To be the example that everyone holds up as the biggest asshole fan when the Leafs win the Cup. I have earned it! All of us have earned it.

Woo woo!!
New job has virtually no filters on the internet!
I can come here and comment now!
But, OTOH, I’ll have actual interesting work coming across my desk now so I probably won’t have as much time to waste on the web as I did at my last job.
Except for this week. Wherein I have nothing to do and nobody sitting around me, but a brand new computer and two 26" LCD screens at my disposal.
Woo.
Hey Winkle, we have a civil department, wanna come work with me?

Two 26" LCDs? I want in. :(

Karina, you are such a tease
But more importantly, how’s the pay?
And gotta love dual monitors! I have a dual monitor set up at home, 2 19 inch LCDs, not as good as your dual 26 inchers but considering mine is a private set up I can’t complain.

You've got me beat at home
all I have is my laptop which does have a nice LCD itself.
For me, the pay is great, not sure what it’s like in Civil, but it is one of the top 100 companies in Canada for the past 8 years in a row!
Chemmy, you can come too if you like…. there’s good incentives for referring people ;)

Where’s it at, and do you hire mechies?

Damned mechies
Like roaches, all over the damned place!!
Not sure I would like Vancouver, but I have yet to go there myself… I will hit it up one of these days, mostly for some snowboarding on Whistler.
