FTB - Brian Burke's Buddy Brigade
- Torontosportsmedia thinks Brian Burke is trying to bring Dave Nonis to Toronto. Canucks 2.0 here we come!
- Greener's going to the game tonight. I'll be sleeping.
- Steve @ Hockeyanalysis liked day one under Burke.
- Torontosportsmedia also enjoyed Burke's first day.
- eyebleaf, Mats Sundin's "Secretary of Defense", does his job.
- general borschevsky has a November Leafs wrapup.
- Toronto Mike went to a Marlies game yesterday and had a good time. I had a ton of fun at a Marlies game two years ago, and try to catch a game whenever I'm in Toronto.
- Poor sens fans. Even your hometown paper knows what sells: THE LEAFS!
- Gah, is there a way to extradite these kinds of fans from Leafs Nation?
- MC79 is very smart.
- Get to know SBN's Minnesota Wild blogger Neide.
- Sens fans should definitely panic.
Comments
At said Marlies game, after two periods of being drunk and belligerent I won four tickets to an upcoming Marlies game, turned around and gave them to the little kid and his dad sitting behind us.
The dad bought us all more beer.

Apparently it’s something they might do on an ongoing basis. If so, I am all over it.

Not that I am in anyway aware of which may be the reasoning behind this:
The Marlies are running a blog centric media day today as they invite bloggers to be part of the media entourage for the first time. They are invited to interact with media relations coordinator Trevor Van Knotsenberg and they will be given access to players for the first time.
Of course, the guy wrote Wendel’s name wrong so I don’t know if he should have qualified…

I have no interest in talking to players, you? It’s certainly interseting that the Marlies are even contemplating this.

Yeah, I’d feel awkward and unqualified. I’m a fan, not a journalist. My interest in meeting the players would be getting goofy pictures and autographs, both of which I’m professional enough not to ask for if given a press pass.
Basically there’s nothing for me to do, I don’t want to bother them.

I wasn't shopping
I went to the Cavalcade of Lights, its the event where they turn on all the Christmas-lighting in downtown T.O. for the season, they mark the occasion with live (crappy) bands and what-turned-out-to-be an awesome fireworks show by Nathan Philips Square.

Were you
At the Sheraton (I think) just across the street from the square?
Did you catch the fireworks show? I very much enjoyed the part where they had two guys rappelling down the sides of City Hall with this spinning wheel shooting fireworks strapped to their backs.

Danton’s dad was furious at the not-guilty verdict last week. I don’t blame him, but it’s hard to convict someone when all you have is second-hand information, and the actual victims don’t speak up.

near as i can tell, there’s no where to post comments. i can imagine the hate and bile spewed on him if he should ever open up the forum to reader comments, which, after the initial stop by to see the site, should dwindle down quickly. in fact, i’d venture to guess all the “visitors” he’s tooting his horn over, went to the site so they could tell him what a despicable monster he is…

I don’t want to go all serious on everyone, but this guy is trying to play his “bad boy” (i.e. pedophile) reputation into a money-making web site, and hockey fans have a morale obligation not to visit or link to the site.

And I mis-used the term “enjoy”, I certainly did not enjoy that Taco-Bell taco about 8 years ago and have never had anything near-resembling tacos since as I was scarred and deeply traumatized.

you are missing out...
make ’em yourself. even better…
get a pan, fill it with enough oil to cover the entire bottom of the pan, but not too much more than just covering. stick your tortillas in one at a time, and get them good and oily, but slightly crispy.
then, cook whatever you want your filling to be (i like the grilled chicken, and here’s why…)
then i sprinkle my taco shells with parmesan cheese and some seasoning, then fill them up with the filling and toppings.
bomb-diggity.
