Leafs Back To Work Wednesday
After having a day off on Tuesday, the Maple Leafs returned to practice at Lakeshore Lions Arena on Wednesday.
Jeremy Williams and Jaime Sifers both will be back in the lineup on Friday against Buffalo as Niklas Hagman and Mike Van Ryn are not expected back until next Tuesday at the earliest.
Van Ryn and Jonas Frogren both skated as extra defencemen at practice Wednesday. Maple Leafs forward Jamal Mayers, out with a broken hand, skated near the end of practice.

Damn
I believe in Karma. That means I can do bad things to people all day long and I assume they deserve it. - Dogbert
Second that. I was really hoping Van Ryn would be back in for Friday.

Just remember...
Wilson’s the guy who said “why would I sit Vesa when he’s had so much time off?” then, sat him…

Yeah
It’s likely a mystery until puck drops since other places have reported that they will be playing.

You know what?
Jason Blake has more points than Tomas Plekanec.
I have Plekanec in my hockey pool. In my keeper league hockey pool. And he was a keeper.
I hate Plekanec.
Here’s hoping for another 3-point game from Blakey. I’ve got him in my pool as well.

Blake and Plekanec! What an unlikeable fantasy team.

I’m in second place!
I’ve got Sidney, that bitch.

Unlikeable teams often are great for points since you’re not just making homer picks. Although it always hurts my soul to take a sen or a hab.

Screw Shame
Nothing wrong with Fisher. He’s been the Sens most underrated player for a long time and is one of the league’s most underrated players. He was always the Sens best player when the Leafs were killing them in the playoffs. I’d take him on the Leafs. He deserves better then to have his talents wasted in Ottawa.
p.s. Please don’t ban me. I have nowhere else to go.

Sneaky Dirty
My buddy and I were also big Fisher fans (we went to school with his cousin and he is probably top five best people I have ever met) but we started noticing that he is sneaky dirty and no one ever calls him on it. The slew foot is a common tool for him plus little elbows and slashes and spears that no one ever notices.
We might be taking crazy pills but if he was a Leaf people would hate him.

definitely. that’s why i like him though. he’ll do anything to win, including bending the rules when he can.
i’ve read that he was an incredible person off the ice. i seem to recall him taking a really sick kid under his wing last year, bringing the family to the rink and such. classy guy, would make a better captain than alfie…

A sock puppet’s head is about as firm as Alfie’s after the Bell hit.

Yeah
That was a beautiful story. Apparently a lot of young eligible women attend his church as an attempt to catch his eye.

ignoring the fact that they would hate him just for being a Leaf.
All Habs seem to also get this immunity. Can you name one Hab that is a unanimously aclaimbed “dirty” player ? I can’t

Yes
“Van Ryn’s going to play,” Wilson said after this morning’s practice at the Air Canada Centre. “For Rynoe it’s been almost five weeks and he’s been given clearance and he’ll be in the lineup.”
Awesome.

I can’t do it. I can’t pick the article apart…actually…maybe I can…it’s so dumb it kills me.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
What drives me nuts
Is that if you read his answers to the questions I think I agree with almost all of them.
He skips the chance to take a cheap shot at the league by rightly noting that comparing Avery’s suspension to others is comparing apples to oranges.
He mentions that Ottawa’s window has passed but they don’t want to acknowledge it.
He explains why Keith Acton never gets canned.
He answers the second Avery question and one trade suggestion well.
All of that gives more credence to the belief that he writes the opinion pieces the way that he does specifically to trigger a response and he could care less how he does it.
