Where Are They Now? Episode Two
Hey, you know when you start doing something and then stop and come back to it and think you're done but you really aren't and then you pretend that you intended to do a second part all along? Yeah, me neither. So without further ado, some more Leafs plying their wares elsewhere. Let's start with the most recent exiles from Leafs Nation:
Those are Steener's numbers as a Blue so far this season. Do the Leafs miss that kind of production? Not really. Do the fans miss having his potential to talk about? I do a little. I had (have?) high hopes for Steen but they never gelled once he wasn't given the opportunity needed to exploit the full range of his abilities. Then again, the PK is doing great now...
These are also the St. Louis statistics. The uptick in production is a function of Carlo getting powerplay time on the top unit. These two will probably be missed the most out of this entire group.
See the rest after the jump!
Don't those three wins just make your blood boil? Can Penaltyshots see these stats? Does this look like they are better than Toskala's? Anyway, he is slated to play against the Red Wings so look forward to the next installment of the Raycrap Report some time tomorrow as Eyebeleaf tears apart the only Leaf player he has ever hated.
Look at the intensity in that face! That's the kind of intensity that got Tucker a big contract with the Leaf and it's lack is what got Tucker bought out. Injuries played a big part in sapping some of that intensity as well and the problems have continued this year. I am sure that we're all looking forward to the Leafs game against the Avalanche to see these two former buds in action.
HAHAHA you have to wonder what John Davidson was thinking when he decided to pick up Andy Wozniewski. If he had just asked any semi-coherent Leafs fan about Wozniewski he might have seen how happy we were to let him go.
So much for coming into camp ready to take advantage of his new lease on life. I guess Ron Wilson just has too long of a memory. Well, he'll be off the books this July 1 and we can finally put this JFJ error behind us. Until the picks he gave up get inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Devereaux fell victim to having an identical clone on the roster that scores more points. I am sure at some point he'll go after Dominic Moore for stealing his life but until then he's been providing veteran leadership on the Marlies.
I'll have Edition Three on Wednesday probably.

I know
Isn’t that crazy bad? What is the over/under on Red Wings goals? 12.5?

i've been wondering...
how on earth did raycroft get so bad. then i realized, didn’t we pick him up the year the equipment changes went into effect for goalies…?
people talk about giguere in anaheim as one who would be impacted by the changes, but for the most part, he’s still a stellar goalie. raycroft…not so much

Good Theory
I can take that. I mean, something has to account for his glove hand turning into a wasteland.

I’m sure confidence plays a large role as well.

confidence...
in the fact that without a cheater on his glove hand, he’ll never amount to much…?

Even after the equipment change
his glovehand was still gi-normous as evidenced below…

Hrm… and for comparison..

HOLY CRAP!

Notice how Raycroft’s body language suggests he doesn’t want the puck to hit him?
Worst. Leaf. Goalie. Ever.

Yea
I noticed that, it almost looks like he’s ducking while sticking his glove up to hopefully catch it… look at the difference in padding alone though, that glove he had while in Boston is insane. I think Blurrster has a real point about the equipment change really affecting him.

Mark Bell
How does Bell have only 20 PIM in 25 games?
You’re stuck in the minors, you’re a big kid, you know the Leafs have a desperate toughness shortage, you know Brian Burke is on his way in… how is he not looking for somebody to fight every single game? Does he really think he’s going to score his way back to the NHL?

No kidding
Considering how eager he was to fight last year you’d think he would be more active. Maybe he just doesn’t give a shit. He gets $2.5M either way.

and because pretty much anytime he fought anyone last year he got the shit kicked out of him. feared heavyweights like ryan malone were too much for him.

Colaiacovo
Seems like he’s doing the best from the group. Good for him.
If they could get Mark Bell going and back up on the big club maybe some dipshit like Bryan Murray will give us a 4th rounder for him. DiDomenico was a 6th round pick, so gems can be found!
Also...
It’s hard to believe all these guys were on our team last year. How quickly we move on!
I am not even done!
There are still so many left to do that just aren’t in hockey anymore.

I think JFJ might have set some sort of all-time record for signing players who would pretty much never be heard from in the NHL again: Alison, Lindros, Czerkawski, Woznieski, Kilger, O’Neill, Belfour, Green, Khavanov, Suglabov, Perreault, Berg, Calle Johansson (yikes), Francis, etc.

At least
we don’t have to worry about that loser parade signing in another town to come back and bite us in the ass! I guess that’s one benefit from making completely stupid signings..

That might be the ultimate glass is half-full argument I’ve ever seen. Well played.

Shots to the skull?
I don’t know if I could survive that but it would signal the end of the world anyway.

Holy Shit
I hadn’t realized that it had actually happened.
Oh God. Stupid SOB.

Raycroft is an avid PPP reader and was pissed at all you naysayers.

Dear Raycroft
You and your shitty glove hand.
