Setting aside the debate about the shootout itself (it sucks but apparently Greg's commenters can't read the questions) should moves like Blake's be allowed? And if so, should the rules be loosened to promote creativity and thereby confirm the shootout as a gimmick?

I can see his point, but then if you are going to take the “cease forward momentum” line so seriously, then no player could even stick handle unless it was excusivly side to side with no deviance to either side because at one point the puck would be “ceasing forward momentum”
