Keeping an eye on this storm... looks like I may be working from home today which means I may not have to worry about NSFW material in CC for once! Oh and unlimited YouTube linking!

Hrm...

No snow yet, everything’s cleared, may still go into work… but I’m reading the Environment Canada warnings and it looks like the storm will hit the GTA between 7-8… so I can probably make it into work but it repeatedly says that driving conditions will deterioriate rapidly due to whiteout conditions and blowing snow until early evening or late afternoon and that the afterwork rush hour will be particularly bad… so thinking it might not be worth it…

Will keeps you posted.

Mats is a guy who was the face of a sports team I’ve loved for years, despite their on ice record in some seasons. To find out know that he was lying all those years. It never was about the team, his love of Toronto, or even about the “journey.”

it was about the money. always.

As an athlete, he has every right to maximize his earning potential, so good on him. He doesn’t have to lie about that. I don’t think the media, or athletes get that. I am perfectly fine with any guy saying he wanted to play with x team because they offered him more money. I’d take the money to. Shoot, my lost job, I told that them that was EXACTLY why I was quitting.

so what do I do

with my husband?

Who has argued with me about Mats’ greatness for the past two years? Until Wednesday night when I made him pull up the all time scorer’s list and he saw Mats sitting there in the top 30.

And then he learns from fuckin’ Pratt and Taylor that Mats only played an average of 18 mins a night, compared to the 25 that Crosby and Lecavalier etc. play.

And now he believes in Mats’ greatness…. because he is a Canuck.

I want to shoot myself.

by Karina on Dec 19, 2008 12:21 PM EST up reply actions

if it were me...

i’d be pointing out his hypocrisy at every turn.

every time he cheers Mats. remind him how much he thought he was over rated in Toronto. And that, he must either admit he is also over rating Mats, or that he was wrong, and that he now enjoys Toronto’s sloppy seconds.

DC seems to be laying a lot of groundwork to take the invincibility off Supes. Which co-incides with how I think they should reboot the franchise…

in no particular order there are Blade Runner, Aliens, Predator, 2001

and I’m probably missing a few more

Because Taking The Leafs Seriously Is Not An Option

hmmm...

it’s awesome, but i don’t put it up there with Blade Runner or the OG Star Wars (which pretty much is the top 3 based on nostalgia alone)

however, I loved it a lot. I also loved the 5th Element. I’d say it’s in the top 5 though, Blade Runner has got to be #4.

Matrix (only the first) could be number 5, depending on my mood…that’s kind of a floater slot i guess..

When I had to review it in film class. The teacher kept stopping it every 5 minutes and go “Look what Ridley Scott is doing, Look at the symbology here, eyes and hands! EYES AND HANDS”.

and I would have to bite my tongue to not yell out its Symbolism you idiot!

For my creative lit project in Grade 12 English I made a music video for snow falling on cedars, my teacher loved it so she showed it to the class and was doing a running commentary on all the symbolism I was trying to convey and I’m like “WTF are you talking about woman? I recommend checking QVC.com because they have the best prices around on Philosophy. They have nice holiday gift packs.
