Tuesday was a really crappy day for Toronto.
DGB gets the lowdow on the dummy that fought Clark during practice. Turns out he was a rookie trying to make a name for himself and he succeeded in becoming known as That Dumbass With A Death Wish.
MF37 once bought a cowboy outfit for a prostitute. Of course, it was just part of his job.
Regional television ratings are up in a lot of American markets. And of course they are up nationally in Canada too. Why?

The CBC and TSN schedules have improved from last year. Most of the CBC doubleheaders have featured the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first game and Vancouver Canucks, playing in the second-largest English-language market, in the second.

TSN's new rights deal with the NHL gives it more Leafs telecasts and each game has a Canadian team participating.
TSM takes a look at some media reactions to Sean Avery's suspension. No surprise then that some dummies think that it's unfair. In other news, the Stars don't want Avery back. That four year, $15.5M contract is looking mighty stupid now.

Avery is le screwed. If I were the Stars, I would just bench him for the rest of the season, I know that costs money but so does sending him to the minors. If he’s benched for the rest of the season and they buy his contract out I can see his career being done, not having played in so long and with his antics will make him un-signable.

This guy poisons and taints every team he plays for.

It’ll be really interesting if the Stars can make a case that Avery violated the conduct clause in his contract – Duhatschek at the globe touches on this.

I rather they bench him and not play him for the rest of the season, that would effectively destroy his career. He would truly be unsignable because of his antics and reputation, and because he won’t have played any professional hockey in almost a year.

I didn’t know he was ill either but the man is like… ancient even by Cliff Fletcher standards so it was only a matter of time.

Sportsnet has sucked even worse than usual lately (sorry Arch) with all these Rogers tributes etc.. No. One. Cares.

The dude was a complete monopolist who has, if anything, held back telecommuncations, broadcasting and the wireless industry in Canada. Scuse me if I don’t weep and moan that he kicked it.
