He said its like beating a horse that is trying its best…

If -10 so far this year is Kabbies best…. thats not good

I know Kabbie has done much better than -10, therefore that is not the best he can do

He did play with Kubina tonight though, right? Obviously, Wilson is trying to bring familiarity back to Kaberle’s game.

I didn’t watch the catch, just heard it on the radio – it seemed like the effort was there even though they were outplayed.

2-1 loss isn’t that bad and probably looks better on Toronto – I’ll take it. Toskala comes out with better numbers, Kaberle got a point and was ONLY -1 (lol). Trade value up, and on track for a high pick.

by WildWolfdog on Dec 6, 2008 9:52 PM EST reply actions

Didn’t watch/catch the game I meant.

by WildWolfdog on Dec 6, 2008 9:53 PM EST up reply actions

There's not much to say about this game

It wasn’t a very exciting game, no doubt compounded by the Capitals coming into the game like a MASH unit. But the Leafs looked listless and they were giving up the puck like crazy tonight. Ian White seemed to struggle immensely, again proving why he’s not fit as a defenseman. Alarmingly though, shots on goal have been decreasing every game for the Leafs. Oh, and the Leafs need to find an “enforcer”, since Deveaux isn’t dropping the gloves anymore.

I don’t effusively praise a lot of guys on the other team often, but that Alex Ovechkin is one hell of a hockey player. I’m saying the most obvious thing ever, but he’s such a joy to watch hockey. He alone can just change the outcome of the game even if his team is plodding along.

Ahahahaha @ the current caller on Leafs Talk rofl.

“Kaberle’s such a nice guy why would you bench him? McCabe never got benched and he sucks! He got traded, that’s better”

The guy was so intense hahahah.

Hey were you guys watching the game?

I saw some kind of documentary on Alex Ovechkin hosted by Jim Hughson

by The Meatriarchy on Dec 6, 2008 10:20 PM EST reply actions

I hate

Hughson.
I hate him more and more every time I listen to him verbally felate some player and totally discount everything Maple Leaf.

Aw come on, you sound like canucks fans bitchin’ about bob cole now.. Hughson isn’t anti-leaf, just that Ovechkin is a genuine superstar player, of which the Leafs have, and let’s be generous here, absolutely none.

Kaberle Interview on Pre-Game

Did anyone see the pre-game show? Elliotte Friedman interviewed him and flat out asked him if he wanted to stay a Maple Leaf…

Elliotte: “You been here a decade; there’s a lot of talk about your future…Do you want to stay a Maple Leaf, Thomas?”

After stumbling, Thomas says, “…(It was) two and a half years back when I signed, and I why I signed in January…I wanted to be a Leaf, but… you know, what ever happens happens. Its something I can’t control, I’ll just – whatever I can control I will do my best. You know?…and that’s what I can do on the ice. And its like I said, I just have to prepare(?) myself like I did the whole 10yrs so far and now I just have to make sure I got out and try to play well and, uh, see what happens.”

Ok besides not answering a decisive and resounding, ‘Fuck YEAH I want to be a Leaf!’ the rest of what he said is confusing. Is he not aware of that NTC that he evoked last year as he mentioned in his long ansswer? Why say it is out of your control? No never mind that… why not answer a straight “there is no other place I would rather be than a Leaf, Elliotte”. Done.

...

by puckbuddy on Dec 6, 2008 10:52 PM EST reply actions

I dunno, I thought Kaberle played better tonight, I think his answer is basically that he likes the Leafs but if he’s going to get run out of town (again) he’s willing to go.

I wonder if he will still be here on Tuesday?

That’s when Burke’s self imposed trade deadline kicks in. Burke was quoted in the papers today as saying “we need to get big RIGHT AWAY”

That sounds pretty urgent to me.
