FTB - There's Lots of News Today
Forget what the infidels have told you, there was tons of Leafs related news yesterday! For example:
- Sean thinks the Leafs should tread carefully with McCabe.
- loser domi invents the worst computer game ever; World of Raycroft.
- Honestly there's tons of news this morning I'd link more but that would probably confuse you.

I also
would like some breakfast.
The booze to try to forget the Leos’ stomping at the hands of the stampeders last night (CFL ftw!) is just wearing off..
Hair o the dog?
Also last night (while still lucid) I got to thinking. How awesome is it that we’re all cheering for a hockey team where there actually is nuggets of new news (and drama!) going this deep into June. Not even red wing fans are so spoiled with the constant stream of crazy crap going around the team. It may be painful, but at least it’s never dull..

news
I suppose that’s one advantage to writing a mainly fiction blog-I can write about hockey all the time. It’s like there’s no offseason! yippee!
Leaf-Addicts
The Leafs are like heroin. Once your on it you can’t get enough, and everyone whose not on it thinks your crazy and gives you tons of shit.
In June when the supply runs out we get all weird and twitchy and freak out over the slightest Leaf news.
Being a sens fan, however is like being an acid freak. You keep seeing something awesome, but it’s just a hallucination.

“Tucker getting a buyout?!” experiences a rush of endorphins “ooooh yeah..”

Lance Hornby
He made the same oversight yesterday that he made last week, writing about the Leafs signing an RFA without realizing that they needed their own #2 pick to do it. I sent him a short e-mail about it, and he replied with a polite note thanking me for pointing it out.
In today’s column he has the correct info, but also adds an interesting piece of news:
Toronto is trying to recover the 2009 second-round pick it lost in a trade with the Isles at the draft. Without it, they have no compensation to give a team if they sign a Group 2 free agent to an offer sheet of between $1.3 million to $2.6 million a year.
I wonder what they’d be willing to give up to get that pick back?

or who.. Hmm.. Who has ties to Long Island and is being pressured to not report to training camp next season.. hmmmm!
The plot thickens! McCabe for a 2nd rounder.. good trade! But then McCabe for a bag of pucks + roll of hockey tape is also a good trade..

tape
I’d rather we have duct tape, it would help us dispose of Peddie

they’re buying him out

Where we unequivocally and unapologetically support the home team...
Think he’d enjoy playing on a line with Dominic Moore?

Is it fowl play?
Can Burke buy-out a player, then become the Leafs GM is September, and then sign that player for the league minimum?

Oddly enough that would still be a lot less slimy than what Gary’s “inner circle” dudes did with that “Boots” guy purchasing the preds..
The NHL: a wretched hive of scum and villainy! (TM)
