McCabe willing to leave after collecting ransom
So now it's a done deal. Apparently. Allegedly once he's paid his ransom he'll go to Florida which is kind of odd considering he has talked about how much he doesn't want to leave and how much he'd want to stay near his family but money talks and values walk. Could this be the last straw for Mats as well?

I know they say definitely no, but damn get Bouwmeester dammit. DO IT! Or Horton, whomever.

Sadly, it’ll be Mike Van Ryn or someone of that calibre. At least that let’s the Leafs open up the spot to one of the kids and get them more ice-time.

Oh Yeah
And tomorrow the window to trade Pavel Kubina closes so it looks like he’ll be sticking around.

Opened and closed with barely a whisper.
I can’t figure why Florida would be willing to deal with Toronto after they got hoodwinked in the Kilger deal. Could Kilger be part of the deal coming back? Seems strange, but everything about this is strange.

I wonder if there are any hard feelings over that deal. I doubt that Toronto purposely tried to hoodwink the Cats because why pull something like that if you aren’t the White Sox tricking the Jays into picking up Mike Sirotka (worst. trade. ever.)?

So he refuses to waive for a year, then finally relents if he can go to … Florida?
I guess we know McCabe’s priorities now.
- Winning? No.
- Staying close to family? No.
- Lots of nice golf courses? Bingo.

Don’t forget:

And shuffleboard. That shuffleboard is awesome. I alos like the McCabe Kilger as BFFs theory. hahahaha, now I have this image of them doing each other’s hair, painting each other’s nails and prank calling people.

shuffleboard rules so hard. You know what rules even harder? Shuffle skateboard, well if you like concussions and broken limbs, its fun for a bit anyway.

It’s all fun and games until someone dies…and then it’s a sport.

I think it might have something to do with getting as far as fookin’ possible away from Toronto.
That and him and Chad Kilger are BFF’s and writting letters isn’t the same as staying up all night having girl talk.

Explanation
Anshu at the BoO found the explanation:
Too much pressure which also explains the home-ice disadvantage the past few years but maybe McCabe will do better when no one is watching.
