Completely Unsubstantiated Rumour
I've been debating whether or not to post this, because the last thing any of us needs is another secondhand rumour hinting at Sundin's eventual decision, but I'm going to post it anyways. On the one hand I hate to burden you all with this news (using the term "news" pretty loosely), but I really need to share it and in the interests of group therapy with you all, and for lack of anything else to talk about, here goes...
I heard that Mats's house in Toronto has been sold (from one of his neighbours).
I'm obviously hoping this is either a blatant lie told by a closet Sens fan or that he is moving to an even better palace in Toronto with his fiance. I know these are crazy thoughts but I just don't want to think about it being true.

I don’t think, if even true, it makes much of a difference. With Sundin’s reluctance to even play hockey, I would imagine he only plays 1 or 2 more seasons max if he decides to come back. If that’s the case, Sundin will find a temporary residence, like a condo or a cardboard box. Seeing as he’ll live the rest of his days in his native Sweden, it makes sense for Sundin to sell off any permanent ties he has in North America.
"Sundin will find a temporary residence, like a condo or a cardboard box. "
But since it’s Sundin, it’ll be a really nice cardboard box, like a refrigerator box, not just a greasy pizza box or any small stuff like that.
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
I thought I heard about his house being on sale months ago, before the season ended?

Yeah. He could play one last year in TO living in an apartment. I wouldn’t worry about this.
Also, from best case scenario to worst case scenario:
1. Sundin retires
2. Sundin plays in Toronto and gets traded at the deadline
3. Sundin plays in Toronto with an NTC
4. Sundin signs somewhere else

He sold his Forest Hill house before renegotiating his contract last time. It could just be that he wants to make a profit or he wants to downgrade during his last season in TO.

Yeah, it’s been known for a while, he’s just gotten married, and this sort of thing has happened before. I honestly don’t think that Mats is trying to screw with us here, what does he have to gain by stringing a club (any club) around if he’s decided he won’t play there?

he is also now in a more serious relationship.
Maybe he needed more room?
Because Taking The Leafs Seriously Is Not An Option
Good point
Maybe his fiancee is pregnant and they need the extra room.

If she’s pregnant, I hope the kid stays in there four months past the due date just to give Mats a taste of his own medicine.
