FTB - Who Else Has Sore Thumbs From NHL 09?
My thumbs are dying, but Be A Pro mode is actually pretty awesome. I've got 3G 1A in 3GP with the Marlies, playing alongside Mitchell and Earl. The game is surprisingly realistic, for example two weeks into the season the Leafs signed Dan Cloutier to a four year contract and waived Justin Pogge. Nice.
- MF37 wonders how this season will compare to the Leafs in 79-80. Looking at HockeyDB, I'd say they're probably on track, although Harold Ballard won't be running a child prostitution ring in the arena.
- Look, Cox Bloc wrote a post and I linked to it. Take that Godd Till and Kim Jorn.
- Down Goes Brown has been replaced with an impostor.
- The General wants to know why Toronto signed every unclaimed d-man in the world.
- Jared(of/from)London has some line pairings for the season, and is also in need of a pocket dictionary.
- Steve@Hockeyanalysis investigates the farm system, and how the Marlies are developing players. Two words: Justin Pogge.
- Loser Domi needs some more losers for her loser league to see who can lose the most games. Ladies and gentlemen your 2008 Toronto Maple Leafs!
- Calling all trivia fans: 1967ers 5th installment still has unanswered questions.

Excellent alternative title. I might have gone with “Good Godd”, but really, any reference to good ol’ JR is good by me. That is a lot of “goods” in one sentence.
Also, I’d like to point out again that Godd was whining about Brownscombe not linking to us, not the crew at PPP.
Anyway, I am off to the birthplace of our Lord and Saviour this morning, and probably won’t be able to stop by until I’m safely back in Ontario. Have a good week everyone. I’m starting to get the impression that BarilkoCon08 may include a trip to the Caribbean and large amounts of Coedine. Fear and Loathing in the Barilkosphere…

For 1967ers
The blue maple leaf is still there at Erindale Station but it’s not below the hockey stick where it was in my youth. It’s at the bottom of the marquee about 30 feet below the sign.

For some reason the provincial government decided to change a perfectly good off-ramp and now it is an asbolute clusterf*ck and adds 15 minutes to my commute. I am not happy.

Hurontario from the QEW. It used to split into north and south via a long loop over the bridge and now it is one ramp that splits into three lanes far too late.
The result: Traffic backs up in the left lane of the highway through both the conscientious drivers and the douchebags that try to sneak in at the front which in turn slows down traffic across all three lanes all the way back to the Cawthra exit.

the douchebags that try to sneak in at the front
The worst. People who use the on-ramp to butt ahead of 4 or 5 cars are among the lowest form of human geings. They would steal from their neighbor if they thought they could get away with it, which is essentially what they’re doing.

I am with you man. They, along with the bastards that go on the on ramp from the highway to sneak up 3 spots or run ahead on a two lane on-ramp, have a special place reserved for them in the fiery pits of hell.
Also, I block those SOBs out which drives them insane.

As much as I want to hate those people, it’s actually the fault of passive drivers who let them in. People cutting to the front of the line are normally aggressive drivers who don’t slow up the line behind them. Game theory actually proves that they help more traffic get through congestion, the real problem is slow pokes who let them in and also just clog shit up by being indecisive.

I usually block them out. Living in Vancouver, the worst part is seeing assholes do it at the border – zooming past an hours worth of customs traffic and then being all like ‘oh, a merge! well, one of these friendly people will let me cut in.’

I hate the passive drivers too. If everyone merges in when there is an opening then flow continues without stops. When aggressive drivers jump to the front they not only stop the one car in the lane they are trying to jump into but all of the lanes behind them.
During rush hour, if all of the weaving idiots stayed in their lane then we wouldn’t have the freaking far left lane being a parking lot.

hey guys!
PPP, at least you didn’t have to deal with Quebec immigration at all…now THAT will test anyone’s patience.
Basically this summer I had to send them in a whole mess of stuff proving I didn’t need welfare while in Quebec, which makes sense, even though for a FOUR year program of studies, I needed to renew it after THREE years. After some hoop jumping, attempting to read minds and sending in yet more shit, I still have to go to the border for the study permit needed for the government of Canada (at least that one’s easier to do—three documents: paper from QC government, letter from the school and processing fee)
Strangely enough I’m not enjoying it.

i bought it last night. got one game in. pretty good. there’s a new “stick lift” feature. it’s difficult, because you get stripped way more often, but it is more realistic defensively speaking.
the be a pro mode is pretty intense. the fact that you can use it online is crazy.
and sundin’s still on the leafs. chea.
