Reading the Tea Leafs - Tomas Kaberle
Following on the success of two other dormant series PPP and I have decided that in order to fill the gap in NHL news that we'll take a look at each of the current Leafs, possible Leafs on the Marlies, janitors, marketing interns and prospects. We'll recap their performance last year, what we can expect from them, and how they can win our hearts (hint: signing the contract was a good first step...unless your name is Bryan McCabe Ian White). We have no idea how long of a series this will end up being or how consistent it will be but with two of us expect it to only be half as half-assed and twice as timely.

Former Leaf he'd have to play like in order to be christened a deity
He is a deity.
Biggest Question Marks
Will Kaberle be able to adapt to zone defensive coverage after playing man coverage his whole career?
2007-2008 Summary
Tomas Kaberle played all 82 games and was selected to the NHL All Star game because whoever picks the players hates Mats Sundin.
Projected 2008-2009 role/team
First pairing defender. Kaberle's going to need to lead the way this year if the Leafs have any shot at a successful season. Yeah, ok, they won't have a successful season even if Kaberle plays out of his mind.

He looks so happy right before he starts shooting
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
It was the one happy moment all season long for me. Maybe Kabby felt the same way.

That’s some strong play-by-play right there.

Puke
Two goal lead with 4 minutes to go.
The team has struggled in third periods, and rarely does that come from a coach – that comes usually from your top players
Final score Buf 3 – Tor 2, OT
…a team with a 2-0 lead blowing it in the 3rd period …that’s a direct reflection of leadership.

Yeah…but let’s wait and see how Wilson deals with this in the pre-season and if it carries through to the regular season before we throw his words back in his face.

Just a reminder.
In his defence, he says “rarely does that come from a coach”, so he’s already cleared himself. I just wonder what comes next? Very interesting to see the situation he described pop up so soon.

No-Shoot Clause
My friends and I used to joke that Pat Quinn put one of those in his contract.
