Net gains?
New goal posts tested in Leafs practice - CuJo says he lets in even more goals (is that possible?)
Also more news on Van Ryn, who will be redoing his baseline test on Sunday.

Interestingly
This was shown on an episode of Daily Planet on Discovery a few months back, I remember watching it and they interviewed the guy who came up with the idea, dood’s one of those average-joe-who-thinks-cobbles-everything-he-can-find-together-cuz-he-thinks-he’s-an-inventor type hacks.

they should
put that guy on Dragon’s Den. It’s so funny when those guys are on there.
But yeah… I don’t know that CuJo and Toskala are exactly the best goalies to test this on. Maybe they should try them out in Boston.

I think
The idea has been expanded, the guy originally only changed the bevel of the cross-bar so anything that hits the cross bar will pretty much go in, but he didn’t modify the posts.

So explain this to me like I’m a Sens fan… why create a bizarre new shape for the net instead of just adding like an inch or two to overall size (which wouldn’t even be noticable to a fan watching).

Exactly
The rookie tournament two years ago played with the bigger nets and we didn’t realize until we were told.

right at the bottom
Toronto netminder Vesa Toskala ranks 41st in the NHL in save percentage (.885) and 43rd in goals-against average (3.30) of the 44 goalies who have played more than 970 minutes this season
More numbers for eyebleaf to chew on.

Who ranks #44? Because it sounds like that guy’s team needs to trade for Vesa.
