To the wolves
Doug McLean is reporting that Pogge has been called up. No link yet, but the Sun has a brief piece about Pogge practicing with the Leafs.

Gah
I almost would rather live with wondering about the potential than finding out for sure.

I feel the same way about the lottery. It was much more fun sitting around on Saturday planning what I was going to do with my $43 million than it was checking my numbers on Sunday to find out that I’d won jack-shit.
The 20/20 update was just on the Fan and they didn’t mention anything about Pogge. Maybe, gasp, McLean is full of it?

I’m not even sure the merits of this call-up either. Pogge has started to play better recently and seems to be finding his groove at the Marlies. He’s going to get a ton of minutes without fear of being unseated except for the occasional rest. Unless Cujo goes bye-bye and the Leafs plan on going with Toskala and Pogge alternating starts, I’m not sure that this is the best timing to call him up.
Perhaps, Burke is making sure whether he needs to target a goalie at the trading deadline or the draft/offseason?

Pogge is probably coming up to play a game and then immediately going down.
He needs to see NHL time, and there needs to be no real pressure on him. Knowing that he’s going back down to the Marlies Wednesday morning even if he puts up a shutout just lets him play.

If that is indeed the case that seems like far better solution than a “play and we’ll see how it goes” type mentality. I would not be in favour of that line of development at this point.

I seem to recall
That both Burke and Wilson said this was going to happen because they needed to know what they’ve got. Even if he comes up and loses, but shows he can play at this level that helps them figure out where theyre going to go.

Let the boy play! Just hope he doesn’t change the course.

And the goalies do check out the ladies in the stands whenever there’s a downtime in play. I know because Tyson Sexsmith of the Vancouver Giants told me.

He specifically claimed that girls in the stands are one of his biggest distractions in a low scoring game. You can take that sentence in any matter you wish.

I agree
Grrr. It’s nice to see Toronto has some sexy in the net. Even though Cujo is pretty fine for his age.
Now, I just have to wait for my Pogge-Tokarski tandem and my panties are relinquished.

Oh yeah, Minnesota doesn’t know how to score.
Pogge can see what losing a game 1-0 is like.

The really sad thing is that Boston recalled Tukka Rask today as well.
