FTB - Thirsty Thursday

Despite being a 24 year old professional I decided last night would be a good night to buy two liters of tequila and invite over everyone I know. After a solid two or three hours of sleep I'm blogging before heading to work.

Shoot me now.

And to think I got up early to post this while hungover. Le sigh.

I’ve just posted a guest preview for tonight’s Leafs/Habs game from a Habs blogger, although in hindsight I didn’t really ask them anything about the game. You can find out what they think of the Leafs rivalry, whether they wanted Sundin, what would have happened if the Leafs had played the Habs in 1993, and whether they think Grabovski could be the real deal.

http://www.downgoesbrown.com/2009/01/leafshabs-guest-preview.html

You can also see my answers to their questions here:

Would it help if you knew I made fun of their centenial, called them ballot-box stuffers, made fun of Carey Price and worked in a purse-stealing joke?

i liked...

the part about their “actual” 100th anniversary.

for habs fans, they seem like good folk. level headed, except for the habs fan part…

"You do dat, you go to da box, you know, uh, two minutes by yourself, and you feel shame, you know, and then you get free."

Thanks

I appreciate the level-headed comment. It means a lot as a backhanded compliment. I wish you all the best for the big day in Montreal this June…

hahaha

It’s funny that the best compliment rival fans can give each other is that they are level-headed.

seriously...

i meant it as a compliment.

i mean, we all hate those homers with blinders on…as DGB pointed out in his comments to them, it’s not that we hate the Habs, we begrudgingly respect them. The rivalry isn’t as great as it could be, in fact it may never be, with us in the same division, but still, there’s something there that connects us…

no disrespect meant

Oh no, I wasn’t implying that I just think it’s funny that “level-headed” is about as good as the compliments for opposing fans can go.

Can we get

a doctor’s note or something to get out of playing les habs? It’ll be like one of those soccer “friendlies” where brazil beats the holy hell out of a senior men’s team from cambodia.

by LeafFanInVan on Jan 8, 2009 12:25 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

True

but the plan is to get a good draft pick, so as long as the purse-snatching, hitting from behind TK keeps away from my players, I’m good with an ass kicking.

I'm not jaded, I'm just realistic.

I'm going to the game tonight....

Who should I kneecap, and who should fully murder?

by lordosis on Jan 8, 2009 12:30 PM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

obviously should read “I fully murder”. I’ll use the hungover excuse too.

Just ensure burke gets out of the building then burn it down, it’s all a writeoff

for the All-Star game. We DO want to make the playoffs right?
