Could the Kessel trade be the worst in NHL history?
According to Associated Content Sports, the Leafs certainly have committed the worst trade ever. The author's knowledge of the Leafs is limited at best, however, that hasn't stopped him from writing several "Haha, LEafs r Sux!!1" articles and hosting several others.
It's just an incredibly asinine article that is passed off as hockey coverage.

the only way this is the worst trade ever is if Kessel never again scores more than 20-30 and those picks turn into Taylor Hall, next years top 5 and a serviceable NHLer in the 2nd rounder

Even still Milbury’s done worse.

I didn’t want to comment there since I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction but wow…stupidity at its finest. Does he not realize that Joey Mac is only in because The Monster is hurt? He also mentions the Burke tampering charges but nowhere does he mention that Burke has been cleared of all wrong doing.

I wanna see the Leafs start winning now so that reporter can eat his words. He also misspelt Nazem Kadri wrong, what a moron

Worst trade ever?
Not by a long shot but right now it’s certainly not looking like a good one. Honestly unless the Leafs finish in a decent spot this season and the next to lower the value of those draft picks then there’s still no way to make this look like a remotely fair trade regardless of how well Kessel does.
I feel unclean for clicking on that article.

In most circumstances that would mean the 1st overall pick next year at the NHL entry draft and a legitimate shot and the probable #1 pick next year, Taylor Hall.
This is pretty insightful, though. Now that I think about it, the 1st overall pick really does have a legitimate shot at the #1 pick.
