PrintThe Leafs' defensive play has been spectacular for the most part right up until Francois Beauchemin passed the puck to the open left wing. Sure, Lee Stempniak is a ninja but that doesn't mean that because there is open ice that he is there. Craig MacTavish just said that calling something "a process" is a crutch for failure. Hey, if anyone would know!
Also, Garnet Exelby just got credited with saving the game by absolutely nuking some poor schmuck wearing #96.

Big fat rebound from Gustavsson on the winner and horrific defensive zone pressure by the leafs. Hagman was flat footed watching in the corner (not dep enough to help his D yet way too deep to cover his point man). Not sure which Leaf got beat on the winner, looked like Kulemin to me.
They deserved a better fate but ultimately pissed it away with a bad final shift.
Bitter Leaf Fan: because sometimes there's no option but to be bitter...
it was kulie who got beat, but yah, the rebound was blech
