Just as long as he performs picture perfect, I like Tlusty’s chance of showing off what he has to offer.

Now that he’ll get more exposure on the Leafs, it will be interesting to see what Tlusty looks like with all his assets on display.

Good work, gents.
Also, as much as I love Stalberg, he just needs to take some time and find his game. I hope Tlusty can light it up for us.

could be

we could look at quite a few Leafs stats lines and see some ugly numbers there as well. not THIS ugly, but still, it was time. Viktor wasn’t getting it done.

I’m confident he’ll get his game back. I think he did need to be sent down. We can see he has the raw tools but he can’t put it together at an NHL-calibre level yet. Working on his game and getting confidence by playing better with the Marlies should help.

I think
the AHL game is also far more like the NHL game than NCAA, it was a bit of a big jump for him to stick with the big club.

Stalberg
This is the right move.
He earned his way onto the big club with his play in preseason, but he hasn’t done enough to keep his spot. Someone else deserves a shot, that’s why we’ve got all the kids that we do.
You know where I'm from.
We will need a Stålberg ‘farewell for now’ post tomorrow night, Arch.

I’m just hoping Tlusty isn’t going to play 7-10 minutes on the 4th line. I’m actually of the mindset that this call-up is to also showcase Tlusty to other teams.
Supporter of the Sergei Berezin "Give and Go" - You give me puck, then you go to hell
He has to be on the top 2 lines or it is a waste to call him up.
If he catches fire/gets some chemistry with Kessel then it could mean a future with the Leafs.
I don’t see the organization being Antropatient with this guy(or pretty much anyone else)

The following is what is heard when Tlusty makes his appearance...

Tlusty
8 GP, 6G, 4A, 10P. This is totally consistent with the stats we saw for last season in the AHL, so I feel like we can be confident that he’s for real. His camp was really ho-hum, but I’m hoping for better things.
Great start for Tlusty down with the Marlies, rewarded with a chance with the big club. Hope this gets Stalberg’s confidence back up and he can light up the A with the Delta House boys

This makes sense.
The Leafs (and RW) are big on the whole top 6/bottom 6 thing. Someone from that top 6 was going to have to go down to make room for Tlusty. Stalberg has been ok, but he hasn’t progressed very much since game 1. He can obviously play at this level, just needs some polish.
As for Tlusty, the situation reminds me of the Adam Lind thing with the Jays from last year. He was called up, did OK, but then got stuck back in the minors for a while. He did fairly well, but once he got back to the show, he made sure not to give the team any excuse to send him back down. I’m hoping for the same result in Tlusty’s case.
Yeah, Tlusty hasn’t been with the big club since going nuclear last season. Let’s hope he never plays for the Marlies again, y’know?
