A Message From Viktor Stålberg

Hi everybody, Viktor Stålberg here! First, let me just thank you all for your unwavering support through the first 10% of the season. It was your loud and outspoken show of positive emotion that motivated me to lead the NHL in pre-season scoring and kept me motoring throughout the beginning of the season.

I know the season didn't exactly start the way we all wanted, but with the Monster behind us everyone in the locker room has faith that we're turning the ship around. Of course, part of turning things around means making roster changes when they are necessary and today Coach Wilson has informed me that I am headed to the AHL's Toronto Marlies in exchange for Jiri Tlusty.

While numbers don't necessarily always tell the whole story, the fact of the matter is that my pre-season point production has tapered off, evidenced by my lone assist in the 8 games in which I have appeared. Jiri has managed 6 goals and 4 assists in 8 games with the Marlies and I'm confident he's going to be able to step up to the NHL level to contribute. Don't cry for me, Leafs fans. The trip to the Marlies will give me a chance to re-unite with preseason line-mates Chrisitan Hanson and Tyler Bozak, and will give you all a reason to come to the Ricoh Coliseum to see our games.

I very much appreciate your support, attendance in the GDT's, witty nicknames and compliments about my hair, I hope to see you all again very, very soon.
