Komisarek Out 3-4 Weeks
Mike Komisarek suffered a quadriceps pull and will miss up to four weeks of action. Carl Gunnarsson has been recalled from the Marlies.
Komisarek was a big part of the Leafs' PK and if Tuesday's game is anything to go by it's time to panic. Let's hope the Leafs fill in for him and Gunnarsson makes a good impression. [AM640] [TSN] [Mirtle]

is it a pull
or is it a tear?
I have nothing interesting to say.

i am what some would call
a laymen.
to we laymen, “tear” sounds worse than “pull”
please alleviate my concerns and tell me i’m simple and know not of what i speak.
I have nothing interesting to say.

uh-oh
This is not good. Definitely need the rest of the team to step up to cover this loss.

Berger Nailed It
I hate to say it but he’s right that Komisarek should not have been rushed back. A quadriceps pull is not the same as a charliehorse but the best way to strain a muscle is to use it when it’s accompanying muscle groups are injured.
Additionally: Did anybody else get the e-mail from Bleacher Report asking “Is Thomas Kaberle Better Than Sidney Crosby?”.

I avoid Bleacher Report like the plague. The only other blacklists are the comments on MLHS and anything by Howard Berger on any site.

From a purely selfish perspective...
…and for fantasy hockey reasons, I need to know if Komi is goin’ on the IR. Anyone? Bueller?
Also: fuck.

Oh, and Beauchemin.
Dude. NOW is the time to start earning that paycheque. Seriously.

Yes
He’s been placed on the IR list.
Don’t count on Beauchemin to pick it up much. He’s already logging bigger minutes than the rest of the blue liners, and more than he should in particular.
I’d prefer if Schenn filled the void left by Komisarek, since he’s been anything but physical over the past 2 weeks.
Gunnarsson is my preference over Exelby for the majority of these 3 weeks.
Kaberle – Finger
White – Beauchemin
Schenn – Gunnarsson

I heard yesterday...
that the Leafs have applied to the NHL to host the entry draft twice in the next 4 years. As President, is Brian Burke intentionally trying to piss us off? Because, if things keep up the way they are this season, I don’t think it’s going to be a good idea to host the draft when we’ll likely be watching our picks being used by Boston in the top 4 or 5.

In other news: An unspecified member of the NHL board of Governors has applied for a new rule which will award the host team of a given NHL entry draft a pick in the case that they do not posess one already.
Moustache Fever, not to be confused with swine flu.
Maybe he has something up his sleeve
like… oh I dunno… trading Kaberle, Stempniak, Stajan, White, or Ponikarovsky at the deadline for draft picks?
I mean at this point I don’t see them making the playoffs so if you’re continuing the rebuild it makes sense to deal the guys that are heading for free agency anyway right?

If Kaberle gets moved, it will be during his trade window or if he asks to go.
Brian Burke is a lot of things, but I don’t think ‘liar’ is one of them. He won’t ask anyone to waive a NTC.
I think it would be a travesty to trade White away, mostly because I think he is worth more to this team than his perceived value for others at the trade table.
The others (and some you have not named) are all fair game to me.

I keep hearing Kabby has a “list” of teams that he would accept a trade to, so if there is any truth to that (which I doubt) then I could see him getting moved if one of those team throws an offer at burke

Well, it won’t be the 2010 draft so don’t worry.
