This is going to be short and sweet: it's Friday, PPP doesn't really blog anymore and I'm about to head out of town. The Chicago Blackhawks are a fantastically talented team with a rich history of success that we should aspire to. Personally I feel very lucky that we'll be afforded the opportunity to see Toews, Kane, Byfuglien, that other guy who made the team based on the salary cap, Cristobal Huet and Brian Campbell who earns more money per year than the soup company of the same name.

The good news is, before you call what remaining friends you have left to cancel plans for your Friday night D&D game or whatever you do tonight, Vesa Toskala gets the start. I'll be going out to dinner and checking my cell phone to tell people at the table how stupid Vesa Toskala and his stupid dumb head is.

Go Leafs go in theory. Don't forget your SPG Picks and keep in mind you can't pick Blackhawks players. When this turns into a gong show feel free to head over to Second City Hockey to curse at people.

and this is mild compared to how crazy Chicagoans can get vs. Red Wings, or Cardinals…I’m not going to give anyone grief about 1967 when we’ve got 1961. even if we’re a better team now, I don’t get into beating up on the Leafs.

I wasn’t even interested at all in sports till a year or so ago despite, er, probably BECAUSE OF living in Chicago for a long time, so I still don’t have the proper amount of pointless rage needed for these rivalries, I guess. and that type of namecalling gets old fast…which is why I’ll lurk on a blog like this one where it’s mostly absent!

It seems like it’s been coming from several directions at leafs fans. The crappy season isn’t really helping. Sometimes, I wonder what void the people who do this are filling, but I still find myself getting sucked in because it feels like a personal assault when I’m already down.
