Why? Granted, there’s plenty of room for improvement, but this past year in the minors seems to have been a good step for him, and I’m looking forward to him graduating to a spot with the Leafs as a second or third-line winger.

Pairing the vets with Kessel gives them the best opportunity to shine, and if they cant look good with him on the wing, then they are probably going to be burried bought out whatever.
The kids can clear waivers and will get their shot if the vets fail

the comments on TSN’s kessel story are more idotic than usual, KidK is going to have a field day. Here’s my favourite:

Lot of hype for a 2nd liner. If he was in any other city this would be a non-story

Totally, 5th overall draft pick and 36 goals in 70 games last year is a second liner, if this guy lived in a real city maybe he would know a thing or two about hockey.
