Bell Centre – Montreal CanadiensThe Bell Centre may lack the history of the old Montreal Forum, but there are perhaps no fans in pro sports more fickle than hockey fans in Montreal. They’ll regularly boo a Montreal player if he’s in a slump, but when they’re behind their team, watch out. Opposition star players can expect to be on the receiving end of a thunderous ovation of boos every time they touch the puck, but the heckling doesn’t end there. Canadiens fans won’t hesitate to boo the American anthem or cheer when a non-Montreal player is hurt, making this venue a very unfriendly stop on the NHL schedule.
When North American based websites put together "Top 10 Most Intimidating Stadiums" lists I have to chuckle.
Anyone that's been to a sporting event on any other continent knows that our fans are comparatively tame. Let's put it this way: the fences at soccer stadiums aren't there to protect the fans from stray shots.

cant see it happening for 1 reason, the only fans who are going to stick around through this year are the ones with class, respect and are true blue fans. That kind of crap happens when fair weather fans get all drunk and dont give a shit
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E"

It'll Happen
It’s been a poisonous atmosphere at the ACC for the past two seasons.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
Heck its already started. They are quicker to boo our own players then to cheer.
Then the upset fans bags….
Life as a Toronto Sports Fan?... *sigh*... It is what it is...
The booing of our own players
and those fucking UpsetFan bags, it’s all a goddamn joke. Seriously. Do Leaf fans really need to stoop down to the level of Habs fans?

If I start hearing “Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole” in the ACC, that’s it mofo, I’m outta here.

Yeah, of course. When Habs’ fans boo, it’s passion. When Leafs’ fans do the same…it’s just plain mean. Can’t win in Leafsnation.
No.
Even if I was a fan of another team, I wouldn’t advocate jeering our own players.
