I only have one question
Aside from where is Harvey Dent...
I am not a Leafs fan but I am curious after seeing the Leafs' play (I find it highly entertaining, and I don't know why, maybe its a combination of the win emanating from Kessel, Gustie, Kaberle and White and the fail emanating from the rest of the team). I am posting on this particular blog because I read it regularly for some Eastern hockey lulz (this and Down With Brown) and PPP (and DWB) seems, for the most part, to be lacking the sort of deluded troglodyte Leafs fan that is so routinely (and mostly unfairly, Ive discovered, after reading the aforementioned blogs) attached to the larger Leafs Nation population.
Do Leafs fans miss Dominic Moore now that the offense (or finish specifically) is lacking for the first quarter of the season? I realize that he wasn't a huge sniper when he was with the Leafs but I just recently watched the highlights of the Rangers vs Panthers game and he seems to have some sort of scoring touch (his steal-and-wicked-wrist-shot technique looks borrowed from Kane vs. Schenn). Responses after the jump, s'il vous plait.
Oh, and please take that god-forsaken "We Are Canada's Team" song off the air, its giving me an ulcer.

No, noone really misses Dominic Moore. He wanted $3 mill/year to stay with the Leafs, that kind of greed is not taken lightly.
We also hate that Canada’s Team song. There’s a bit of a campaign started to get it off the air. It’s terrible, all it does is give opposing fans more fodder for making fun of us, when our team’s losing ways provides enough of it already.

Nope don’t miss em,
If Dominic Moore is the answer you can be damn sure you are asking the wrong question
And we are with you on the Canada’s song crap, we have all hated it since day 1.
Life as a Toronto Sports Fan?... *sigh*... It is what it is...
Moore has also been pretty much terrible since leaving the Leafs at the deadline.
This is the first time he has been on a game recap in that whole time in my memory.

Kidkawartha has a great post about that horrible, horrible song.
Also, I don’t know who this Down with Brown fella is.
Is he anything like Down Goes Brown? <———— that guy has satirical irony down to a science

Also
I have watched most of every Leaf game this year and there is talent, effort, good goaltending, good defensive play and goal scoring….
Unfortunately, the above us usually spread over 3 games and rarely combines into a full 60 minutes.
Other teams are playing above their heads by capitalizing on their few chances and the Leafs seem snake-bitten for failing to cash on most of theirs.
I still think this team, once it is all said and done, will be around .500 come the end of the year.

Down Goes Brown it is.

While he played for the Leafs, Dominic Moore was easily my favorite player – probably the hardest working guy in a Leaf uniform since Gary Roberts. He just worked his hump off, night in, night out, and it was hard not to appreciate that. But yeah, the fact that he left demanding such a stupid amount of money, combined with the fact that he hasn’t lit it up anywhere else just makes me glad that we got a 2nd rounder for him. That was a STEAL.

If Moore had of wanted to stay at a sensible price then I would have welcomed him with open arms. Unfortunately, he has to look out for # 1 and that didn’t work out for him.

not only did he over-estimate his market value, he also ended up accepting a deal that was noticeable less than the one that Burke offered him. so much for “home-town discount”, eh?

If you're wondering about Idiot fans
they usually just appear in GDTs and smack talk there (because everyone’s focused on the game). PPP is just the only place where Leafs fans aren’t horribly retarded
