Now that the wheels are on, I want some revenge.

funny enough, I dont think there has been a single round of fisticuffs since Luke the Duke fought in Vancouver (too lazy to fact check, prove me wrong if you like)

I think the lack of fighting has been counterbalanced by the increase in everyone’s hitting numbers as compared to the first 8 games of the season.

The Leafs aren't actually hitting more now than they were early on
if anything the hits numbers have declined for many players on the team.
And no the last fight was Niklas Hagman vs. Lukas Krajicek against the Lightning… so no they haven’t stopped completely.
Hits by game:
vs Det: 14
vs Car: 19
vs TB: 13
vs MTL: 17
vs Buf: 13
vs Dal: 33
vs Ana: 18
vs Van: 17
vs NYR: 17
vs Col: 21
vs NYR: 43
vs Pit: 32
vs Ott: 27
vs Wsh: 22
vs MTL: 22
Their average has gone from 22 up to 23.67, then 25.75, then 29.2 after the Pittsburgh game. It’s been dropping ever since. They are hitting less, not more. They are fighting less, not more.
Basically they’ve stopped trying to impress Brian Burke, and have instead realized they need to stick to playing the system Ron Wilson has instituted and it’s beginning to work. Over the past 8 games they’ve averaged only 18 hits, and that’s largely raised by the Dallas game.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the Leafs.

Oh man. I convinced the manager at the restaurant to put the game on for me, and I proceeded to ignore my girlfriend and her parents for the next hour.
What a sweet feeling. A winning streak. And 10 out of a possible 14 points over the last 7 games. Doesn’t get much better than that.
It’s safe to say that some of our early season issues, besides goaltending, was waiting for the team to gel. Do we still have a lot of areas to improve? Hell Yes. But the signs as of late are promising,

3 wins and we are right back in the playoff picture, this morning is quite the glorious morning

I find your lack of "!!!11" after "playoffs" disturbing.
We’re not there yet. At least touch wood or something.

Still last in the PK
The PK is sitting at 73% right now, but is a perfect 16-16 in the last four games. If you go back before those games, it was a dismal 64% (30/47 killed off).
And as an added note, Toskala was in net for four killed penalties in the Montreal. So the defense has definitely woken up.

It's at 85.7% during the point streak
So they’ve turned that part of their game around.
If it continues how it’s been going recently that number will only continue to rise.

anybody know what the possibility of getting Manny Fernandez as a back-up?
we’d probably have to dump toskala first, but in any case, would it be a good idea?
giguere is too expensive, and i feel like Joey Mac isn’t good enough to win a few games here and there. Thoughts?
Go Houston Rockets!

Manny was leaning towards retirement. He had a pretty major surgery and he’s had no training camp. I doubt he’s an option for any team other than the most desperate.

Joey Mac isn’t bad. And he’s highly motivated to play here. My feeling is our D would play better in front on him than Vesa.
I am Mikhail Grabovski's smirking revenge.

yeah, hopefully the team won’t fall apart every time Jonas gets a rest.
But I really think Toskala shouldn’t get anymore starts. He will, but he shouldn’t. That shootout was the last straw.
Go Houston Rockets!

I’ve seen cardboard cutouts of Trevor Kidd that could stop the same shootout move

The Thomas one along with the second one that Tosky let in glove hand are pretty bad. No dekes…and the guys take forever to shoot.
No clue what Brodeur was thinking…but it worked =)

To be fair, cardboard cutouts of Trevor Kidd tend to have better save percentages than Kidd himself…
