It's Friday, I'm Tired
- Sure Brendan Witt gets all the press, but Down Goes Brown wants you to know that hockey players get hit by moving vehicles all the time.
- You know what Friday needs? More commercials.
- Shhh. Jared's sleeping .
- Yes, the Leafs lost, but there were still some positives in the game. MLHS spotlights a few players from last night who were playing better than the final score would indicate.
- Leafs - Knock Knock. 5 other teams - Who's there? Leafs - Ketchup. 5 other teams - Ketchup who?? Leafs - Ketchup with ya soon!
- TML Fan Fury picks a Leaf for every decade and calls them "the Greatest." Can you do better?
- The Leafs need a proper power forward. Do they have one in Jimmy Hayes?

Well, i really hope that Kessel doesnt lose any confidence after dissapearing in Boston twice now…
I wonder what Wilson said inbetween the 2nd and 3rd periods, the leaf team was completely different in the 3rd.
The leafs look so small compared to boston as well…

Meh
Many great players have struggled against Chara.
At least the team can build on the third period going into tomorrow’s game.
This is PPP's work account until further notice. Damn Internet.

i know, i just worry that this will be the story when he faces good teams in important games…
arrg,, nevermind im jumping the gun. the fact that a little physical play throws him off so much just has me worried

i dont think its the hits that get to him, but when he gets smothered all game by someone he cant just fly away from like chara, who can log more minuites than him, he starts to over think and loose his game
He was much better last game than he was the first game against the Bruins, he actually figured out how to get past or away from Chara long enough to make a good play or pass.
He’s learning too.

That one play in the first period was nice where he got Chara to follow him across the ice, and leave Stajan open for a one-timer.

yah, that was awesome, too bad the pass was a little less than perfect and Stajan bobbled it
If Kessel had a player close to his skill on his line he’d have a ton of assists

When Ryan O’Byrne starts putting Kessel off his game, I’ll be worried.
When one of the 5 best shut-down defenceman in the league, not to mention one who spent 3 years playing every day in practice against him and knows his game inside and out, puts Kessel off his game, I’m not.
Resident Capologist
Well, it will likely be that way a lot until the Leafs get more support.
Last night’s game was an expected loss. The Leafs aren’t making the playoffs by beating the best teams in the league. They are going to make it by racking up the points against the Islanders, Thrashers, Hurricanes, etc of the league

Right. Boston has a truly elite shutdown d-man in Chara who knows Kessel’s tendencies and Boston had the last change.
Why would Boston cover anyone but Kessel? Stajan and Blake can’t score to save their lives.

The Bruins’ entire game plan was just to sit back and pick apart the Leafs breakout. Kessel, Grabovski, and Blake are the three main puck carriers on the Leafs. They all prefer to carry the puck into the offensive zone as opposed to dump and chase. Boston knows this and simply trapped the neutral zone. The Leafs don’t have the size up front to dump & chase, so they didn’t have a response.
That and Boston has a really good transition game and the Leafs TEAM defense was not great.

anyone else notice that Kessel gave Savard a look of “Hey! Why would you do that to me!?” when savard bumped him in the corner?

When I make a video called “Why I Hate Jason Blake”, that 2-on-1 where he decided to spinarama into a weak backhand instead of passing to a wide open Grabovksi will be prominently featured.

How about opening a game with a double minor high stick and the closing it with an additional high sticking penalty?

Santa is like a genie
he’s all “oh, oh, make a wish, go on, just make one, whatever you want”
Yeah, we know where that game goes if you don’t have a lawyer bullet proof your wish list… How many little girls asked for ponies, but specifically forgot to say “not a My-little-”. They know what I’m talking about :)

Every time he makes one in a game,
they need to make him spin until he pukes in the next practice.
