There's always going to be controversy and a little bit of adversity playing here but I think guys have to be held accountable... Maybe that's a big reason why we haven't had success in the last few years or so, maybe the guys haven't been held accountable. So, hopefully, I'll be part of things to come here in the future and if I'm held accountable at an early age, it'll make me stronger down the road.
Luke Schenn is amazing. From the Toronto Star.

That's what I like about the kid..
He ain’t gonna just sit there and bitch and moan about how poor old him got benched, he just soldiers on and motivates himself to want it.

Good to hear him saying the right things. Now he needs to do the right things.

weird thing is
that they benched him NOW, when he (to my eyes at least) at least appears to be doing less stupid things, and a few very good things again.
Much like the team as a whole, he was quite bad for the first dozen games or so. I didn’t see the motivation to bench him now, but not then.
Oh well, I’m wure RW is a lot smarter than me.
I guess
the Boston game was the reason why?

You could clearly see
the frustration in Schenn when he smashed his stick in anger after Recchi scored.

Mind you
we’ve never seen that type of show of emotion from Schenn after a goal against, so yeah.

I’m sure I have seen him react the same way, this year even.
Truth is, luke has regressed. Maybe last year he played purely on adrenaline. Maybe Ian White covered his ass more than we’d like to admit. Luke needs to do 2 things; keep hitting the gym, and work on his footwork and speed. If he keeps being caught flat-footed, he won’t be an NHLer much longer.
also, what a lot of people are forgetting, it that Schenn was playing with better defensive partners last year, he also was given WAY more leeway since he was a fresh faced rookie.
Thats not to say he hasnt regressed at all, he has, it is just much less pronounced than everyone thinks

I want to see him get angry and smash every player wearing Red & Black tonight.

IF he plays
be prepared for a rough game. Oh, and he has to get revenge on Neil for busting him open. My God, is it just me, or do these Leaf/SNES games begin to sound like wrestling matches?

If Ottawa’s enforcer is out the Leafs should be taking runs at their skill players: Alfredsson, Spezza, Michalek.

No
Mitchell fought him right after. Also, it was a clean hit.
Besides, Leafs won on Saturday. Why would we expect Schenn to be back? Wouldn’t RW stick with a winning lineup?

he has stuck with a winning lineup before. Once they get on the ice tho, all bets are off

Why else is Wilson stickin with Vesa right now? Because he’s winning games for the Leafs

What does that say to Exelby tho? He played when they won, you have to reward him. Schenn sits until they lose, IMO. Finger did. Exelby did. Schenn has to as well
Fairweather fans can go to hell
Exelby is terrible, thats case one
also how many times this year have the leafs played well, or won with Finger in only to have Exelby suit up the next game?

Makes sense to me.
Schenn will be fine when he does get back in the lineup. I have confidence in him.

plenty of doubt in my mind, I dont see them sending Schenn to the A any time soon

works for me
although, I’d like to see Wilson give Schenn and Gunnarsson a spin on the second PP unit.
they looked so good in their limited time on even strength. I have a feeling they could be quite the factor on the PP. Also, I’d swap Stempniak for White on the second PP unit. Grabbo, Hagman and White, with Gunnarsson and Schenn. That could be redonkulous
I have nothing interesting to say.

It's as different
as having a forward on the D during a PP.

White has a wicked shot, quick release. he could do damage on the off wing, much like Kessel, on the PP. Gunnarsson can anchor, Schenn can be the outlet pass, and Hagman on the other wing.
grabovski just needs to be a force in the slot. He still gets pushed around a lot. If Poni wasn’t on the first unit, you could use him here. There’s Kulemin as an option, as he’s got size. That might work.
I have nothing interesting to say.

Should've mentioned
I don’t disagree – I would definitely like to see what he’s capable of doing on PPF. Just saying that 3 D on the PP would be counter to what you’d expect to see.
Crap, I may have just rhymed there.
RW to the Star
“Part of this isn’t so much about Luke. I’m sitting out other guys that don’t deserve to sit out,” Wilson told the Toronto Star. “If Luke can’t play better than some of the other guys, it’s not fair to them that they sit out all the time.”
