WOOOOOOO! WAY TO GO NAZEM!!!
dang, he’s still south of 180 lbs. he’s put on 10 since being drafted though. I think he was mid 160s then?
hit the weights in the offseason!
I have nothing interesting to say.

i think a slower weight gain might be better for him, then his skill development wont be hampered as badly by sudden muscle mass

true
i wasn’t expecting him to be 190+ overnight. just glad to see some improvement.
Grabbo’s only 183lbs according to the Leafs site. so he’s not that small i suppose.
bah, nevermind what i said. i’m just so happy!
I have nothing interesting to say.

yah, me too, although it kinda sucks how he will be on the second line just to keep the Windsor line together. But if it helps them get gold, power to that.
I do, however, expect Kadri to play himself to the first line

The first thing I noticed was him being 2nd lightest on the team. Not that I really care…. he’s just plain nasty out there.

yeah, mini Schenn has 20lbs on him at the same height.

I dont think he’ll be that good offensivly

Since Hall’s an underage the Windsor line is probably going to be the 2nd line with Kadri centring the first.

tsn had kadri on the 4th line… the windsor line is widley considered the top line
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E"

I read on TSN that Kadri is to centre the second line

ive heard everything from the Windsor line being the official second line with Kadri centering Eberle and someone on the top line to the Windsor line being the top line with Kadri in a checking roll,
im not gonna worry about it until i see what they ice on boxing day

indeed, he was who I wanted the Leafs to draft originally. He is a beast.
but i am more than happy with Kadri

On that subject
I know it is very early, and definitely too early to make a real decision;
however, let’s say you have a time machine and can go back to the two recent drafts.
Do you take Schenn and Kadri again, or do you take Filatov and Cowen? Now, I don’t really know, but I will say this. On Toronto, I don’t think that FIlatov leaves. As long as he’s getting ice-time, he’s happy. He was getting as much ice-time as a good 4th liner was in Columbus, which is what really set him off.
So who you got?
by Belligerent Burkie on Dec 16, 2009 11:51 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Without Schenn, the population of Toronto dips by like 3%. Tough call.
by Robot Godzilla on Dec 16, 2009 11:58 AM EST up reply actions 2 recs
I think Kadri was the right pick in this year’s draft. Cowen’s got a knee issue I believe… could be wrong but I’m fairly certainhe’s had at least one surgery already. That’s bad news for a big skater like him who puts more stress on his joints than the average player.
As for Schenn… I love the guy… but seriously, we probably could have taken Filatov or Myers and we’d have exactly as much of a hard on for them as we have for Lukey.
Why do we do this to ourselves?
by Kenjamin on Dec 16, 2009 11:58 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Wrap, our local Spokanian, has kept tabs on Cowen, apparently he was rather blah at the start of the season but is coming around now
Id be depressed to if i was drafted by ottawa
Myers was projected to go later by everyone, so i dont fault the pick, knowing what we know now…i might change my mind, but i doubt it

Kadri and Schenn any day. If anything its because Kadri is a much better all around player than Filitov IMO.
Cowen has the potential to be better than Schenn, but its unproven and Schenn has shown he can play in the bigs too, so that sways me, also i may have developed attachment to them already

Well, if we get to have 20/20 hindsight I think you go Tyler Myers (and keep the 2nd and 3rd we gave the Islanders) and Kadri.

Hold on a minute; this was a Toronto prospect that was traded away, he’ll win more than just a Vezina. He’ll probably even best Theodore and take the Vezina, Hart and Lester B Pearson award – in three consecutive years
by Belligerent Burkie on Dec 16, 2009 1:29 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I think I’d make that call after I see the kind of sophomore slump that Myers has next season…..

Kadri and Schenn
Kadri – 49 points in 43 playoff games, 203 pts and 180 penalty minutes in 214 regular season games.
Filatov – 52 points and 40 PIMs in 77 games. No playoff points or games.
I won’t compare Schenn and Cowen on points, but I think that their probably on par with one another skill wise. I give the push to Schenn because he hasn’t had knee surgery yet.
I have nothing interesting to say.
