Is this what NHL-quality goaltending looks like? I can’t remember if I’ve seen it before.

I have vague memories of guys named Joseph, Belfour, and Potvin… I think that may be on the right track… but my memory definitely needs a refreshing… which is what that performance by the Monster was.

4-2-1

With a .918 save percentage in his last 7 starts.

Tuuka Rask is 5-1-1 with a .950 save percentage in his last 7 starts.

Rask has had 2 games ALL YEAR where his save percentage has been below .900.

Can anyone console me on the fact that the Leafs COULD have had Rask if we hadn’t traded for Raycroft? We also never would have had to trade for Toskala… etc.

Any free agent. It’s not like we made the playoffs – we might have had a better draft pick.

i figure .950 in front of the stingy bruins is about the same as .918 in front of the free-wheeling leafs.

and more importantly – no use crying over spilt milk.

Yesterday is dead, but not my memory.

I’m kind of tired of hearing this. Let’s just get over it. We don’t have who we don’t have. We have a new GM who is rebuilding the system. One of the first things he did was get a good young goalie. We’re ok. Apparently we could have had Gretzky at one point, too, but Stavro didn’t want to pay a measly $3M for him. Coulda woulda shoulda. Let’s focus on what we’ve got.

Just bothers me

to think that any idiot would come to the conclusion that Rask was inferior to Pogge.

If you had watched their games prior to the trade there was zero doubt that Rask was a superior goalie. It made no sense.

Anyway… spilt milk is all cried over … I’ll get past it.

Not that JFJ wasn’t a dope but perhaps the Bruins asked for Rask over Pogge.

I heard somewhere

though I have no idea if this is true, that Rask had decided he wouldn’t sign with Toronto, so that’s why they had to trade him.

Sorry, no sources at all to back this up, just something I read on a message board once (which means it must be true). Wondering if anyone else had heard anything along these lines.

I watched the gold medal WJ game

I knew Rask was better then Pogge….

I was immediately upset when we traded him for ‘Glove side’ Raycroft (although had I known just how good Rask could be and how baaaaaaaaaad Raycroft was, I would have been even more upset.)

Also

this was CH’s first Leafs game, was it not? So….. let’s make him move to TO and trade in his bruins’ season tickets for leafs ones…

I knew it. I didn’t want to jinx it, but I friggin knew it.

The universe would not be cruel enough, after what they did to us Friday night, to let CH walk into our barn, watch the Bruins kick us around again, and give him bragging rights until next March when we play them next.

I believe the Raycroft trade was justified based on Kaberle’s goal tonight.

I don’t know if anyone mentioned….but did you see Kaberle do a “Wendel” after the Stajan hit?

Was he the first one to Boychuk?

For some reason I find this totally hilarious.

Kabby and Poni were all up in that scrum, even Kessel took a man so they wouldnt be out numbered

What I thought was so funny was right after the hit you see Kaberle pick it up a notch to get at Boychuk.

All that was missing was the look over the shoulder for the ref….and the supernatural punching power.
