Leafs 4 Pens 3
In a game eerily reminiscent of last season the Leafs dumped the Penguins 4-3. Pittsburgh tied it up with under three minutes to go but moustached hero Ian White scored less than a minute later to seal the deal. He's going to command a hefty price on the UFA market (edit: after becoming an RFA this summer). I hope Toronto can re-sign him or move him for a first rounder at the deadline because Ian White is turning into a serious stud. Tonight he had a goal and an assist, was +2 and logged over 25 minutes of ice time.
The Leafs are off until Wednesday when they play in Edmonton at 9:30ET. I have Thursday off thank god.

Capgeek has White as an RFA and they’re usually good for this stuff.
Yeah I think he’s an RFA. Maybe I misinterpreted Brady’s tweet and ran with it.

I have an artistic aversion to anything manga/anime or based on anything that was at one time manga/anime. Also read a review and said the story line is crap and that it’s just a visual thrill ride. I’ll take something with substance any day.

WOOHOO!
I was listening in the car on the way home so I caught the last part of the 3rd period… had to listen to when the Pens tied it up and I cursed loudly in the car (on a side note I was waiting in line in a Tim Hortons Drive Thru and I think the staff heard me) but then all was right with the world when White made things better.
Life as a Toronto Sports Fan?... *sigh*... It is what it is...
Sadly couldn’t watch it because of a lack of channels on our satellite (cheap parents) and crappy internet connection (also due to cheap parents). Listened to the third period on the radio. Comments:
- Have always hated Matt Cooke. Haven’t seen a replay of the elbow to the head from behind on Hagman but it sure sounded dirty. Not surprised that he would do something like that.
- Quite possibly the first time I can remember a blown goal by the ref resulting in a non-goal for the Leafs has not resulted in us losing. Ian White: history breaker.
- Luke Schenn: GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL!

Did they actually credit Schenn with the goal? The entire time they were saying it should’ve been Grabbo’s. Good for Schenn.

Two things
1- Good job on changing the page title. I bet Kessel scores in the next game.
2- Schenn had a significant stretch in the 3rd period where he was everywhere in the defensive zone. He had a pair of takeaways and was making the outlet pass with confidence.
Really good looking in real life.
I believe Schenn made a excellent choice to standup in the neutral zone that totally shut down a Pens outbreak

Kill them with Blake
He has 48 points (25G, 23A) in 48 games against the Pens in his career. He’s turning out into quite the Penguin killer.

Great game! Gawd did we need that one. Exelby played five minutes, Schenn just over ten minutes. Big four all played about 24 minutes with Beauchemin leading with 29:12 seconds of ice time. Stempniak trade starting to look good for us now. He’s grown on me as has Kulemin. GO LEAFS GO!

Steen DID score two goals for the Blues tonight, and had seven shots on net with an amazing 20 minutes of ice time. And Coliacovo had almost 19 minutes of ice time. Only Steen’s fourth and fifth goals of the season though, and the Blues lost. We got the Ninja! I think Stempniak is making $2.5 million this year so we must have won that trade on salary alone. Not sure exactly what Steen and Coliacovo are making. Time to drink more and more and be merry! GO LEAFS GO!
This is a drinking club with a hockey habit.
That is such an awesome signature by somebody that posts at this awesome site. The Leafs could make the Pope turn to drink. I’m still swakked and trying to emotionally deal with our loss last night against the Shabbies. Thank the hockey gods a new day dawned, and the Leafs won or I’d be feeling stabby and my wife would be even more annoyed with me. Cheers!
Thanks for the sig shoutout.

What happened to the GDT? Can't find it anywhere
I had to go out, but am staying at a place with PVR so recorded the end of the game… now want to go back and see what the rest of you thought about dirty pen hits that the pbg commentators poo-pooed away.
ok found it
here in a browser history, and it seems mostly full of Washington types pulling for pitt’s demise (which I appreciated all the more, watching it from here in pittsburgh)… But no idea why the thread seems to have been so completley from PPP’s archives.
We take all but the first period off of the front page after the game.
