umm....
I’ll wait to see what we get back before discussing this but I really wish we would have given him a decent shot this year.

well he must have something to his game for him to be a 1st rounder
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E"
He’s truculent.

He’s 7.0 C, Tlusty is 8.0 C. I guess this is a case of maybe they see something they like in this kid, and they figure Tlusty had a shot. The interesting point is the 49 players under contract issue, although since Valliquette already cleared waivers, I’m not sure what that’s about now.

Physical presence.
Knowing our GM, that’s probably what he didn’t like about Tlusty.

Knowing the Leafs luck, he probably pronounces it “parody”

something tells me he’s going to get a million friend requests in the next few hours

Bob McKenzie of TSN and Red Line Report each rated him 40th, while McKeen’s had him 48th. ISS not only rated him No. 88, but also had him No. 4 on their “Overrated” list (it’s worth noting Ashton was third on that list). Canes Country, like McKeen’s, ranked Paradis No. 48.

That article links to an interview by Blueshirt Banter, where PP mentions he was interviewed by four teams, including the Toronto Maple Leafs.

More info
• Paradis helped lead the Shawinigan Cataractes to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s – they fell to Drummondville in seven games. He had 12 points (6-6-12), including, two game-winning goals, in 21 playoff games in 2009.
• During the regular season, he posted 50 points (19-31-50) in 66 games.
• At the 2009 CHL Top Prospects, event, Paradis blasted a 95.7 miles-per-hour shot in the hardest shot competition, defeating seven other prospects.
• Paradis started playing hockey when he was three-years-old and he credits his parents for having the most influence on his career with their constant support and sacrifices.
• His favorite players are Edmonton’s Ales Hemsky and Chicago’s Martin Havlat — he patterns his game after their skill, but tries to add a stronger physical presence to his own game.
Also, he’s a Habs fan. NHL.com has a full bio up, which I assume is from his draft year.
I have nothing interesting to say.

I think this is
one of those instances where Burke said he would move a player who deserved a shot in the NHL but couldn’t crack the line-up, ALA Pogge.
And this is also the Leafs line up you’re talking about. One that dresses the likes of Jamal Mayers and once Rickard Wallin…

HOLD THE PHONE
Jeff Marek is saying this:
Burkie did it. Jiri Tlusty to Carolina for a 1st and Paradis from Shawinigan in the Q
I have nothing interesting to say.

yea
no effing way
no chance
Carolina’s first round pick from 2009 AND their first round pick in 2010? For Tlusty?
No
Hope is all we have left because we sure as fuck don’t have Tlusty

Its cause Paul Maurice loves him

I don't know
The Canes are pretty terrible, I mean look at Stralman in Columbus, Jiri might end up in their top six forwards in Carolina

I honestly believe Ron Wilson
Did not like Tlusty at all or maybe Tlusty whined about being in the AHL, I dunno, maybe Burke knows something about this Paradis kid
Fairweather fans can go to hell
he must figure tlusty isnt part of his top 6 moving forward and wanted to get someone who might fit into his bottom 6 and plays a more physical game
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E"
No Kidding
Tlusty only played what, a game or two with the Leafs this year? They must figure he’s topped out.
Dreger:
Tlusty trade to Carolina for Paradis gives Toronto another big body prospect. Part of the rebuild. Tlusty wasn’t.
I have nothing interesting to say.

Maybe Burke considers Tlusty a KHL flight-risk due to being in his final year of a contract with no time in the NHL basically.

I guess you didn’t see that episode…………

Well, at leats we have one more player to look forward to burning us every time carolina comes to town. All the media will point to Jiri Tlusty and say "See what could have been for the Leafs! 1967! "
There is no "I" in team, but there is an "M" and an "E"
But you know what? Kadri wasnt projected to go where Burke picked him and look at what he showed. I dont know, Tlusty always managed to score at the NHL but struggled mightily while playing in the NHL. This is surprising but lets wait and see.
Toronto Maple Leafs: Bringin' The Pain Since 2009
Kadri was gonna go top 10 regardless, plus it’s too early to say anything about Kadri until he plays regularly in the NHL.
Trying to remain rational

Struggled mightily might be a stretch. After scoring at a ppg last year in the NHL he has only played 2 NHL games since…

At 18 years old
I definately owned an AE hoodie.
They make comfy hoodies, what can I say?
Really good looking in real life.
I’m speechless…..no I’m not….How the hell does this solve any of our problems? Why???I give up!

I have seen Paradis play a few times in the Q and he looked pretty good to me, but what the hell do I know?
I think this is a pretty good trade for the Leafs. I know Tlusty is still young but he has had some decent chances to play for the Leafs and he didn’t play very well. If Burke sees Tlusty as a bust then I am happy that he was atleast able to get a former 1st round pick back for him.
Go Leafs and Bruins!
