And, frankly, Antropov is deluding himself if he honestly believes that Toronto is a tough environment for a hockey player. This city is mush compared to the unforgiving likes of Montreal and Boston and Philadelphia. Antropov might find that out shortly.
Rosie DiManno apparently missed the memo about the fickle Leaf fans that boo studs like McCabe and Murphy out of town. At least she is consistent with the Star's editorial command to talk out of both sides of your mouth about the Leafs and their fans.

Boston is harder to play in than Toronto? are you shitting me?
Montreal and Philly might have an argument to be comparable, but Boston?

My favourite part

So, even if she were correct, there can only be 3 tough markets? The fourth toughest market in the league isn’t tough then? God I hate her.
Don't You Guys Remember?
When Boston booed Joe Thornton out of town for not winning a cup? Oh wait… that didn’t ever happen…
Maybe it was how they treated Ray Borque? or Cam Neely? Those other Bruins that never won anything? Or was it how they used to get on Nick Boynton before he ended up in Phoenix… or perhaps Glenn Murray lost the will to play NHL hockey because of those withering glances he got from the fans in the stadium?
Next she’ll tell us how the Boston fans gave up on Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker before KG and Ray Allen showed up…

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the Leafs.
seriously, including Boston in that list is a cry for help, or she has a running bet to see how much blatantly wrong crap she can write and not get fired

lol funny — Pierre Mcguire was going on about this on Friday on the Fan590. About how Toronto is an easy place to play because the people who cover the team are Leafs fans. Its incredible how irresponsible our media have become. I’d love to have Mcguire prove his theory with examples. I’m not sure who he’s talking about? And I’m not exactly sure in which situations players in this town have been given free passes.
Honestly, I think its all BS. Toronto is judged completely different than other cities in the hockey world. Face it, they are satilites circulating the hub. Why embolden the centre of the universe when everyone else is screaming for attention.
Go Leafs... at some point.
What is she smoking?
and where can I get it?

I guess Rosie chose to plug her ears when fans actively cheered whenever the scoreboard announced that Antropov was a scratch in the lineup.

Oh God
I remember it was the second loudest cheer at some games when he was out injured.
