Just tossing up the game recap from Mapleleafs.nhl.tv since I missed the whole middle of the game. Enjoy!

Shit, I love watching the Leafs fill the net. But beyond a temporary filling of warmth, really what does it accomplish? The answer to that question is simple. The hard part: finding a way to negociate these rare, albeit fun victories and end up where this team should be, the bottom.
Wouldn’t it be nice to support this team in games of consequence again??
Go Leafs... at some point.
To be honest one year of being awful and getting Tavares isn’t going to fix the Leafs. Toronto’s getting a good draft pick this year, and they’ll get a good one next year, and the year after.

To be honest I don’t really even think we need to wait that long. If we could just improve our team defense and get respectable goaltender we could make the playoffs (think Minnisota/Calgary, but our offense is better). Add in the this years draft (hopefully) and last years, that gives us sufficient prospects to work with. If we do these two things once next summer roles around we could actually get a high caliber free agent or two to come here. I don’t think this should take longer than an additional season, two at the tops depending on the variables.
but I don’t know, I have been accused of being an optimist.
40 years we've stayed loyal, waited, and pained. That is the honor of being a Leafs' fan.
Can’t win the Stanley Cup. Can win the Tavares Cup. This team isn’t good enough for anything else. That’s clear.
If wins now contribute to this team’s future success, I’d like to know how?
Who the heck on this current roster will be here when wins mean something again. Like 2, 3 guys? If that?
Go Leafs... at some point.
Thanks! I missed it completely
Watching the highlights I thought for a second that the game was in TO, with all the Leafs sweaters in the stands. Nice game.
