Tavares_nyi

From Puck Daddy, this Islanders fan must not be superstitious.

He's going to be pissed when the Islanders trade us their first rounder for Raptors season tickets and a Luke Schenn replica jersey.

I'm sure

that Burkie can convince Snow that Kolzig is the goalie he wants in the system in case DiPietro goes down again next year, and will trade him to them with our pick for #1 overall.
Then come july 1, they’ll have nothing!

hell, well even throw in Gerber and Hollweg!@

a good manager always has his successor in place, ready to take the reigns.

Isles aren’t nearly the lock to finish dead last that I had thought they were. If the Leafs continue their torrid post-Antropov goal-scoring pace, this could get interesting.

Leafs won’t catch them, but Tampa has a shot.

Leaf, the universe and everything.

top three

is a sweet spot to be.

the better the lottery chances, the less it could cost us if we trade up.

As dick-ish a move as it is, I kinda wish Tavares would just say he’s not suiting up for anyone other than the Leafs. So, you can draft him, and he’ll sit out unsigned until he becomes a FA a la Blake Wheeler.

I think Tavares wants to play in the NHL at all costs. He’s sick of wasting away in juniors.

THat doesn't work anymore.

They filled that loophole with the new CBA. Wheeler (Punk) was under the old CBA because he was drafted before it.

can he

still pull a Lindros?

If he wants Lindros karma, I guess he could. But the hockey gods showed they do not smile upon such maneuvers.

Apparently they hate 15 year contracts too…

Indeed. You know that all of his injuries began after the contract? That wasn’t some subtle sign from the gods, that was a damn earthquake.

Burke

has said as much in interviews since he’s been hired, so I’m not surprised.

Traffic down? Make up an insane rumour and include the Leafs!

I’m wondering if Burke can use a Jedi Mind Trick to somehow draft Schenn AND Tavares at the draft. You know how awesome that would be? SOOO awesome that it won’t happen. But I’m a Leafs fan. Hope is the only thing that keeps me going.

You know, I think of allllll people he would be most likely to make it happen.
