i love ron wilson. what a beautiful man. i was hoping that he would fly out and rip WCH’s head off, but i’ll settle for the verbal lashing.

Wow
The ref should have stepped in and stopped that fight. Working Class Howard just got dummied.
That was the verbal equivalent of a mere mortal fighting Wendel Clark.

Awesome.
Also, article1’s hardware > my hardware. He wins the upload race!!!

Nah. Someone else uploaded it.

you do have integrity back there, you know
I like the emphasis on integrity there…like “bitches don’t know…”
Making stuff up since real Leafs news is far too depressing
Yeah
And of course Working Class Howard doesn’t understand the insult in what he was saying.
Why wouldn’t Wilson make that call in November? My guess is because the Leafs weren’t trailing by one goal with less than two minutes left. Then again, I’m just an idiotic fan.
Pension Plan Puppets: A Toronto Maple Leafs blog and a group therapy session.
It was awesome. I knew something was up when he said, “Because you try to win the game, you know” in answer to WCH’s first question. You could just tell something was pissing Ronnie off big time. Wicked awesome.
I defy DGB to continue disliking the Burke/Wilson era, at least for tomorrow.

I like the era. I just don’t agree with everything they do/say.
Still, if a cheesy and embarassing stick-measurement results in this sort of Howard Berger curb-stomping, maybe I’m for it after all.

We're on it
We did have a pool when Ronnie was hired on the first mittenstringer to get a new one torn. I think WCH won.

when was this?
Mirtle’s the only sports blogger I’ve been following consistently for years. Like, I’m pretty sure I was one of the first ones to start reading him back on blogspot. So I can’t remember this wrath directed his way and I would like to have my memory jogged…

Nothing says "integrity"
than lying about something you said that is likely already posted on fan590.com for everyone to hear. Well done WCH.
I don’t understand the fuss over a stick measurement…. Wilson said why he did it, and I thought it was a decent reason…. hell, I would have liked it even if it was just a shot at Jason “Retard-Giggle” Spezza and his inexplicably large ego for a guy whose career is already in decline.
Man
As DGB mentioned, just wait until Saturday. I agree that Cherry is likely going to lose it.

We can cancel the rest of the games and just have Ron Wilson yell at the media for three periods instead. The entertainment value would be astronomical.

Did you get annoyed when you kept taking those penalties?
That’s the best question Howard could come up with. What are the odds the answer is going to be anything other than a version of “yes”?
You constantly challenge us and you get challenged once back and you get all [Wilson interrupts]
And that’s Berger’s best retort.
All of those who wondered when Wilson would have an episode with the Toronto media put the emphasis on Wilson having a short fuse. Clearly, these folks woefully underplayed the local media’s ability to be idiots that ask a never ending stream of dumb questions.
Bitter Leaf Fan: a life-long Toronto Maple Leafs fan comments on the team, the media and the exasperation...
On the subject of dumb questions
The one after Wilson’s done with Berger asks him if he noticed all the empty seats.
Got anything relevant to ask boys?

I really
don’t think they do….. they’ve all been so lazy for so long they’ve forgotten how to think of a relevant question.

True
I’m actually pretty impressed with Wilson holding out so long before totally losing it. I would have snapped ages ago with the questions these morons ask.

That was classic! Put your mic on so yo can play it back later! What a dumbass Berger is!
When Berger tell Ronnie that he constantly challenge the media or him, he should realize that journalist are not supposed to be challenged as in noticed/seen, if you are its because you are failing at your job.
Too bad the rags that he writes for look at this battle between Wilson and the idiots as $$$
...
Here’s the video of the pre-cursor when WCH asked Wilson about the stick measure call in Ottawa (his awful follow-up at 1:40 draws a death stare from the coach): http://mapleleafs.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?catid=-5&id=36045
Bitter Leaf Fan: a life-long Toronto Maple Leafs fan comments on the team, the media and the exasperation...
I hate to pull out the old “you never played the game” bit, because it’s not always relevant, but it’s quite obvious to me that a number of the Toronto media likely has never played a competitive sport in their lives, because they clearly have zero insight into the psychology of an athlete.

I heard it this morning, Fan590 is playing the audio clip like every 5 minutes, it’s great. Pierre McGuire said it was more like Ron Wilson just making a point about his integrity and it wasn’t anything against Howard specifically (snicker). Anyway it was great, made my morning drive that much more pleasant.
