Fan 590 Congratulating Berger for "Standing Up" to Wilson
The hosts on the Fan 590 Morning show are - incredibly - congratulatiing Berger for "standing up" to Wilson, who they are portraying as an ego maniac. I think I'm recording the spot now and will post it as soon as it's done.

Bwahahaha
Of course.

Wow
And now? I think I’m done with the fan590. I’m not going to listen to them except for broadcasts of actual sporting events, and I will make sure to turn off the radio before they go back to regular programming.
Sigh.

Of course they are defending him
They don’t see anything wrong with what they do on a daily basis.

I don't listen to the FAN
This is why.
Berger got owned. They might as well admit it. The best was his pathetic reply.
“You question us everyday!”
Shut the fuck up.

PLAYOFFS!!!!1
I also do not listen to the Fan, but did so today because I heard Berger was going to be on and talking about this.
And I’m working on a little project about that.

I tune in
for traffic reports…
I found myself not being able to tolerate Edge 102.1’s morning show anymore and I needed a source for traffic reports so I went to Fan590… also Edge 102.1 doesn’t do traffic reports in the afternoon/evening commute anymore (I dunno why) even though I like the afternoon show…

680 news does traffic updates every ten minutes. True ,they use the same sports updates as the fan does, but it ain’t bad.

Oh yes
It’s 680… I always think 640 and tune in to that station but then they never do any updates and I get annoyed
I should seriously consider getting a GPS unit and subscribe to a live-traffic-report service so I can have that and listen to my own music on the commutes

I don't think
we need to be concerned, read some of the comments that people are posting in response to Berger and McCormick’s blogs… they’re getting ripped to shreds by the general public

yeah but
they don’t pay attention to those replies, otherwise we would’ve seen a change already.
McCormick is an idiot who’s supposed to cover the Oilers but writes about the Leafs more than his own team….

Berger is getting absolutely shredded on his own blog. Check out the comments section – easily more than 9 to 1 against, and how.

best quote so far...
this blog was so pathetic it really made me feel uncomfortable while reading

You know what
That’s the thing, they don’t read the comments or they ignore it entirely… same goes for McCormick who was getting ripped on in the comments to his own blog. They don’t care, they don’t listen because they think they’re right and we’re all a bunch of stupid hicks for disagreeing with them… they’re the media so obviously what do we know?

I agree that they probably don’t read the comments, but I do believe they care about them. The number of them anyway. To them, 500 negative comments are better than 100 positive ones. The problem with some of these writers blogging, is that they use it for any publicity, which in turn may bring people in to see what kind of idiotic things they write in their respective paper.
Cox and Berger both use their blogs to further their newspaper column readership Cox has this art down to a T, even commenting back with some of the idiots. Cox however, only lets by a couple of negative comments, while WCH only cares about the hits his drivel brings.
…even commenting back with some of the idiots…
Oh, man, I don’t think DGB is gonna like that part… :-)

Hey, wait a second…
Actually, Cox deserves credit for occasionally diving into his comment section (although I don’t think he’s done it recently). Berger has never done so as far as I can tell.
It doesn’t matter what kind of software is used, a “blog” without any sort of followup interaction isn’t really a blog, it’s just a column that gets posted online.

So wait, we have a media vs. coach problem, and the media is on… the media’s side?
Wow!

Well, since it’s the Fan590 and they actually pay Berger for his tripe I am not surprised by why would a random Sportsnet guy feel the need to offer his two cents to defend a competitor?
