Hogan embarrasses himself.
There. Fixed.
"So hide your passions in between the daily grind and broken dreams. The city is a drag."
Agreed with both of you. Listening to this sycophantic crap reminded me why I don’t listen to sports talk radio.

I used to listen all the time, being a huge sports fan, but then I started to get annoyed with the ranting and personal agendas, and started to cut back. Then they gave a job to Mike Toth, and pretty much had to give it up for good.

I’d rather not watch video at work as bandwidth is a concern…

Sorry, it’s like 10 minutes long and I’m no that good a typist. But the “video” is really just a title card behind which the audio plays – if it helps, this won’t consume any more bandwidth than 9 and a half minutes of streamed audio. :-)

I wish I could take credit
But PPP first used the term douchenozzles. I used douchecakes. And dicksticks. And others.

LOL
My friend (Blues fan) used that word on the phone the other day.
I guffawed: “What?! You read GameTime, or Pension Plan Puppets?”
Him: “Huh? Pensh-what…?”
Me: “Never mind. Forget we had this conversation. So … lunch then?”

Im kinda interested
in hearing if Dreger comments on Leaf Lunch, or Brady on the Bill Watters show. I know some of you may disagree, but I actually like Greg Brady
Disappointed since 1984
heh
a few commenters on KK’s today… this is an interesting comment, following one that’s critical of Ronnie for addressing WCH when he did, saying it’s just because he wanted to get on sportsnet:
Could have also been done as a way to put Berger on notice: Continue acting like a D-bag, and your access is restricted.
If you’re going to throw barbs, throw them in your column in the paper or on your radio show. Don’t throw them in person, face to face. Jeff Schultz of the AJC learned that with Thrashers GM Don Waddell, which inevitably cost him the job of Thrashers beat writer.

How does this guy not know why he did it?
What a useless discussion. Is Berger as bad as Garrioch? Why do people take things so effing personally… you’ve got to have a professional relationship.
I especially like all Berger’s backtracking, “I think Ron’s a great coach,” yadda-yadda-yadda. Even if Berger’s a douche, a journalist should never feel a need to apologize for criticizing a coach. That’s his job. It’s part of the problem with sports journalism today, you’ve got to bite the hand that feeds you, but sometimes it bites back.

Watters
Just told a story. When PM was fired, he was driving to tell his kids at school, on the drive got a call for WCH. PM asked him NOT to use the recording as he wanted to tell his kids. Sure enough, he put it on 590, even tho he was asked not to

Fair’s fair. When somebody is attacked publicly, they deserve a chance to air their side of the story. It was only fair for Hogan to give Berger a chance to defend himself.
Hey, just curious, when Berger went apeshit on Leaf fans last fall, calling them sheep and bragging about how much money he made off of them… which fans did Hogan have on his show to air a counterpoint?

hah!!!
see, I was just thinking about Howard’s question that started all of this and really, if he’d just left out “when the points meant something” it would have been much less of an insult to Ronnie.
WCH’s inability to hide his disrespect for Leaf fans/Leafs team/Leafs coach is his problem.
by Karina on Mar 11, 2009 12:25 PM EDT up reply actions
DGB: You’re right, of course, that Berger deserves a chance to rebut Wilson’s suggestion (and your illustration with reference to WCH’s article slamming the fans is a propos). The Fan would be remiss in not having him come on some show and attempt to explain himself.
But that doesn’t excuse the aggressive crack-licking that the two hosts of this program engaged in following Berger’s “explanation”. Nobody calls WCH on his bullshit assertion that his initial question was not related to other games with the Senators; nobody points out that Wilson’s certainty that Spezza’s stick was illegal has absolutely zero to do with whether he’d ask for a measurement in a game against Vancouver or Washington (as Berger is now attempting to defend himself) “when the points mattered”. Ridiculous. Shoddy job by Messrs. Hogan and Toth.

To be fair, jr
Hogan and Toth are morons who surprise me in that they seem to have enough brain stem activity going on to support basic life support/motor skill functions, so let’s not be too harsh on their inability to do a good job.

True enough. But see, those brain-damaged monkeys we were discussing the other night? Could. Totally. Do. A . Better. Job.

Indeed they could. In fact, I’d wager that my coffee mug could do a better job. But I don’t want to give it a shot, because I’m worried that it would be awesome, and then I’d have to find something new to drink my coffee out of.

Howard Berger is FUKT. Really FUKT up as are all the FUKT up journalists who have FUKT up my coach’s day. Watch them at work. I’m John Mitchell, and I approve this message
I think what Howard needs to learn
is that his job is NOT to analyze hockey. It’s his job to REPORT on hockey.
I quote Howard: “I was questioning the timing of (the stick challenge)”
That’s not your job. Your job is to tells us what happened, how it happened, and what the participating members feel about it.
Don’t analyze the game. Don’t tell us what you feel should be happening. We don’t care. You are not a hockey analyst.
Repressed Optimism is within us all. Embrace it. Things will get better someday.... won't they?

Yesterday when Wilson confronts him Berger doesn’t say shit and just takes it. Now on the radio away from Ronnie Berger thinks he is hyper-sensative?
Berger if you don’t have the balls to say this kind of shit to Ronnie’s face, then you shouldn’t say it at all. Ron/Burke should ban this douche from press conferences
40 years we've stayed loyal, waited, and pained. That is the honor of being a Leafs' fan.
This is just a terrible piece of radio chock full of problems – from Howard’s inability to properly frame a question to Hoagie wondering why the Leafs didn’t call for a stick measure in a game they were winning in November (could you imagine the sh*tstorm that would have generated had they lost the measurement?)
As a Kelvin is a measure used to measure extreme cold, this radio spot has so much wrong in just 10 minutes it needs a new unit of measure just to gauge its awfulness.
Bitter Leaf Fan: a life-long Toronto Maple Leafs fan comments on the team, the media and the exasperation...
Sports Personalities
I listen to like 9seconds. Sports personalities and their egos ‘puke’. I listen to Leafs lunch most everyday [on audio on demand]. Craig Brady said to Ron Wilson last week that if the Leafs make the playoffs, that Ron Wilson should win coach of the year? Bill Watters sounds like an old turd at times, when he criticizes the Leafs. Darren Dofus…..whatever.
