The Relentless Tick Tock Of The Clock
Today we're light on laughs and heavy on links. Well, heavier on links than laughs anyway. So just like most days!
My apologies - it's been a helluva morning on the National Affairs desk today...but Portugal in the early Spring? Well yes, that sounds lovely...
- The Hot Stove boys look at the numbers, the immediate future of the player worth a Steen and a Carlo and recaps the action from last night.
- T.O. Sports think we all owe Vesa a big sorry and a bunch of flowers. As opposed to a kick up the...yes, well.
- Any chance that Don'll have something to say about this?
- Ms Domi yoinks the tube (so to speak) and comes up with Suomi gold.
- I wouldn't normally approve of this sort of link, but this is a scoreline for the ages, wouldn't you say?

No flowers for Vesa… yet. I think he’s got a lot to prove next year. It’s not enough to just say, “oh he had an injury that’s why he wasn’t playing well for basically the entire balance of the season”. He has to come back from surgery next year and be great right from game 1 of the regular season and then stay great for the whole season. Then, after we’ve either made the playoffs or, failing that, traded Vesa for something that will help us get to the playoffs the next year, then maybe I’ll consider sending him flowers and saying thanks for not sucking as bad as Raycroft.

Yup
Totally agree on this one… there’s been waaay too much flip-flopping on this whole injury issue for anyone to know what is going on there for sure. We will see next season.

UGH!
everyone knew the kid had the skills, it was his ‘splodeybones’ (I hope got that right) image in Toronto that drove him out. It turns out he might have been allergic to playing here (or the media, they are a plague of locusts and all).

Technically
His name is splodeybones, and it would be his splodeybone-ness (or splodeybone-osity) that drove him out, but I’ll let it slide. This time :)

Congratulations to him on playing 60 games in a season for the first time. This is also the first time he’s played 50 games in a season.

Yeah. Lots of talent but who knows when he’s going to get his shoelaces tied together, fall down and get a concussion next.

yeah…likely pull his groin climbing onto the team bus after the game or something…maybe in St. Louis they keep him in a bubble after the game…store him in the rink basement…

He’s also getting a lot of points because he’s on the first PP unit. In Toronto we generally have Kubina and Kaberle available.

that helps…he’ll likely not get so much next year when Johnson and Brewer are back and healthy…

Apologize to the Vesa?
I never apologize! I’m sorry, but that’s just how I am.

On this Friday...
I’m a little disapointed this link didn’t make the FTB.
Quite possibly some of the greatest ideas ever for a hockey team. Can’t wait for a team to relocate….

Would it be like “2 and a Half Men” living together? Or “Bert and Ernie” living together?
You've had all your word nourishment for one day.
by Bert and Ernie...
do you mean ambiguously gay?
not that there’s anything wrong with that…
