There is crying in hockey
NHL All-Star Mike Komisarek is upset about Grabovski "running" Markov when the game was out of hand on Saturday. Komisarek clearly didn't see the same hit I did. He was probably watching some of his old game tapes and got confused.

yeah...
…they whine with special flair in montreal. Of course, it’s always clean when the roles are reversed.

What a shock
A member of the Canadiens being an absolute hypocrite? I am shocked! SHOCKED!
Those bitches run Grabovski all year, slash him, spear him, hack him after the whistle and out of sight of the refs and then complain about a clean hit? Fuck them.

too good points about that
One – He is very good at getting under their skin
Two- It doesnt slow him down or scare him at all
I love Grabbo

you gotta love his moxie…no fear in him…sometimes it affects his focus, but then I think his borderline craziness is a huge bonus for him. And anything that the habs dislike must be a good thing.

I think it is also worth noting that Grabbo hasn’t displayed any of the attitude that supposedly got him booted from the Habs last year. Maybe he has matured. Maybe Wilson and Burke scare the shit out of him. Maybe the blame partly lies with the mob-boys and the culture of entitlement in the Habs dressing room. My guess is it is a little of all three.
I think Grabbo has a low tolerance for people who treat him poorly. And it is pretty obvious he wasn’t well liked in the Montreal dressing room and probably was treated as such.
Wilson and Burke treat him well as long as he plays as hard as he can, the team seems to like him and come to his aid all the time on the ice.

“This poor kid has been through enough with this team,” said Wilson. “[Grabovski] can play for me anytime if he plays that hard. I wish we had some more guys who showed as much heart as [he] does. Every single night, no matter if he gets cut, hit, down and out, he comes back. You can’t stop him.”
That’s all you need to know. Grabbo rules, Montreal can suck it.

I think Grabbo is the toughest Leaf player I have seen since Markov, he may not have any pugelistic skill or throw massive open ice hits left and right, but he can take a beating and it doesnt slow him down at all.
face busted open for stiches? no problem
destroyed my Milan “Leaf season destroyer” Lucic? bitch please
hit from behind by hulking George Larauque? put me in coach
I love this kid

Quinn even admitted it was the worst trade he made.

I miss Quinn, I wonder if his ego would survive working with Burke and Wilson

Yeah, but he also did it for Markov’s own good… apparently there were off-ice “friends” that he needed to get away from.
I’ll also put in a mention for two more of my personal favourites, Yushkevich and Svehla… those guys were tough as nails too.

Thanks for posting this, Kim
I was looking for yet another reason to hate the Habs, and I think this’ll do the trick.
"I’m tired of trying to find happiness through lies and self medicating. If you need me, I’ll be at the bar."
What’s funny is across Canada, WE are the hated fans. Habs fans are much worse than us, they whine and whine and whine.
It’s gonna be extra sweet when they get knocked out first round. Only problem is we just gave them their excuse, “We didn’t have Markov!”

It’s sad, but Buffalo just aren’t good enough and Florida choked.

There is a great vid on youtube (dunno if that is the link) about that whole playoffs (for the leafs). It is set to the song “Burning Bright” by Shinedown.
AMAZING vid
My fave memory from that playoffs- Alyn McCauley scoring with like 4 seconds in the 3rd. Man I missed that guy. He used to be my fave player

Komisarek = Allstar**
- - title given to player who made an allstar team on the lone basis that he plays in the city where the game is held
Reading “NHL All Star Mike Komisarek” just made me laugh, and laugh some more.

I'm
on Chemmy’s side on this one….. scoring isn’t so much of a problem for the Leafs, it’s keeping the puck out of our own net.

Yeah. Exactly.
Also, Montreal has a ton of UFAs and RFAs to sign, the Leafs pursuing Komisarek should force one of two issues: Montreal can’t afford to sign him so the Leafs get him at a somewhat decent price, or Montreal matches and the Leafs wreck Montreal’s salary cap structure going forward.

I`d equate him more to Marchment or Lindros. I never learned to love either of those guys. I refused. Komisarek would fall into that group.
Agree
Having said that, if he signs and then destroys a Hab or a senator every time we play them then it’ll help.

If he “destroys” a Hab or a Sen with a late/dirty hit and then hides behind the linesman when someone comes looking for blood, it won’t help. And that is what you get with Komisarek.
yeah, but we wont deny that he is a chicken shit.
and I’m sure that Kubina or Schenn would step in to help someone who is affraid of their own shadow

I actually screwed up the joke when I posted the fanshot. It was supposed to say: NHL All-Star Mike Komisarek is upset about Grabovski “running” fellow NHL All-Star Andrei Markov when the game was out of hand on Saturday.

A case in point
This is so typical of the media making up the message and repetition making it true. While the francophone media is pissed about the whole affair, it’s mostly because they’re homers to a fault and they hate the Leafs. The injury is a bigger deal than the perp. Because Gainey said in English that it was a dirty hit from behind by someone with a grudge against the Habs, the anglophone media, starting with CP, started to repeat it. It should be noted that Gainey is speaking to a local audience – all the anglo montrealers that hate the city of Toronto. But, anglo reporters in MTL looking for that prized CBC job start asking the players about the dirty hit from behind by the player with a grudge. Anybody having issues with the Leafs (ie:Senators blogs) then sees fodder for their own bullshit machines. Fuck Gainey, his band of lackeys, his grudge against Grabbo, his desperate attempt to avoid questions about his own competence, the corporate shills at the Gazette.
but
even the Sens fan on Kuklas agrees that it’s not a dirty hit.
But yes, I agree, Gainey’s deflecting the attention from his team and when the Habs are absolutely demolished by the Bruins he’ll fall back on this “dirty hit” as the reason for it. It’s sad and pathetic, and it makes me even sadder considering I used to like him when he was in Dallas.
