Pushing For The Top
To look at the progression of this site from it's blogspot days is to really marvel at the internet. It's gone from a lone voice toiling away to a vibrant community that, as of this posting, has 420 members, 431 fanposts, 934 fanshots, and over 168,000 comments. The fanposts showing aren't even a week old! And the fanshots tend to break news before even Chemmy or I can get to it.
The best part: the Leafs suck. You can look at the traffic numbers at the bottom of the page but it's funny to think that it's all happened despite some hardships. The Leafs have been in the midst of setting a record for futility in missing the playoffs four year, Chemmy came on board, Loser Domi started wrangling you nutters, Wrap and Mattblack became card carrying members of the PPParty, and despite all of those setbacks more and more commenters and lurkers (sign up and share your thoughts) have visited and contributed to the community. Hell, it's such a great place to talk hockey that opposition fans feel comfortable and that says a lot. There's only been one guy that didn't get it. I can deal with a 1-420 ratio.
So thanks for not only visiting but for helping build the community. We can't say it often enough but running the site is only fun because of everyone. Thanks to Joe at Mile High Hockey for compiling the stats on visits across SBN Hockey:
| Name | March Total | Feb Total | % Change | ||
| 1 | Western College Hockey Blog | 50,902 | 40,185 | 0.27 | |
| 2 | PensBurgh | 41,955 | 18,635 | 1.25 | |
| 3 | Pension Plan Puppets | 37,655 | 25,145 | 0.50 | |
| 4 | Habs Eyes On The Prize | 35,169 | 26,125 | 0.35 | |
| 5 | St. Louis Game Time | 32,302 | 16,951 | 0.91 |
Obviously From The Rink and Japers' Rink (coming up with site names is hard!) are a distant 1 and 2 (and probably not in the order that you'd expect) but we're holding off the filthy Habs. Mirtle's done a great job getting all 30 teams represented since he joined - Edmonton and Columbus are on the way - so it's a testament to everyone here to be in the top 5. Thanks to Chemmy, Loser Domi, Wrap, and Mattblack because this site would not be half as good without them.

Congrats
It is crazy to think about how much this community has grown in the last two years. Good work by the entire PPP crew.
I remember when this site got maybe 10 comments on game threads.
It’s come a loooong way. Congrats and keep it up guys.
A group hug
it out session is clearly in order.
This place has grown fackin ridiculously, and it’s great to see.
Like I said yesterday, this site is a well-oiled machine, constantly churning out quality material.
I’m glad to be a part of it.
Now come here, PPP, Chemmy, Wrap and Mattblack

yup
You can still see it. Actually, that’s something I meant to mention. The archives have all been transferred over so you can see what it was like when things would get 0 comments. And by things I mean basically everything.

That’s just you.
It’s down to Ryan Hollweg constantly googling [disgusting sexual act] + Hollweg and the disproportionately large amount of Hollweg content on TWWoLD.

hey hey HEY, there is NOT disproportionate Hollweg coverage at TWWOLD. Disproportionate Stajan coverage? yes. But Hollweg? no.

Disproportionate in relation to Hollweg = Anything about Hollweg.

You guys should be at the top of that list by the time next year, and I’d be willing to bet you’ll be pushing Jasper and Mirtle too.
It’s incredibly rare to find a blog that “gets it”. There are lots of good writers, lots of good platforms, lots of good subjects, communities, etc. But most blogs have one or two of those things. You guys are knocking them all out of the park.

A lovely historical town situated on the banks of Lake Ontario. Nicer than Port Hope, cleaner than Peterborough, and way above being mentioned in the same breath as Trenton or Brighton.

a few good bars for a town that size. And, Zap Records, an unbelievably good music store for a town like Cobourg.
Cleaner then Peterborough

Pig's Ear
Most definitely. We need to get the Barilkosphere up here for a weekend. After a few trays at the Piggy, their opinions will change…
Speaking of which, KJ....
I go to trivia night once a month with a fun crew, but they’re terribly inconsistent at scheduling- we’ve only shown up once or twice in the last 6 months. Any interest in a new team?
"We've had an ongoing problem with Grabovski this year." Bob Gainey, 4/04/09
Thursdays are usually tough for me, but I can definitely do it every once in a while. I have a few friends who like to go sometimes, so we might be able to put a team together.
Godd and I racked up a few perfect scores at the trivia in years gone by. We camped out in the old smoking room, indulged in some peanut races, and paid for it every Friday morning.
That
Is a perfect night out in Peterborough, if you add getting poutine at City Lights on the way home.

It has it’s bright spots. The waterfront is amazing. Especially compared to what it was like when I was a little kid.

yes, i’m guilty of wearing suits at the ACC (occasionally), and eating sushi, but never at the same time. i’ve also gotten inappropriately drunk and called jarko ruutu a pussy from the purples (i think he heard me).

I love the atmosphere here. I feel like there’s no subject that wouldn’t be able to be discussed, and it doesn’t come at the expense of talking hockey.
Best of all, I love the way Leaf Nation unites here. Some circles would consider a massive site like this to be competition and possibly clash, but the Barilkosphere Community looks after each other with nothing but love and respect, even when opinions conflict. There are never truly hurtful things said, and the community is so welcome that I’ve actually made friends with people I’ve met here.
Please, never change a thing. I love you just the way you are.
