Monday Music Meltdown!
Here it is, the second installment of links, with song lyrics. See a lyric you think you know, throw the song and artist in the comments. I know what you're really here for...
Manic Monday - Relient K (Punk Goes 80's) (via dkproductions94)
And yes, this is a shtick...
- Dr. Steve tells us about what to expect when Gustavsson comes around.
- Down Goes Brown has a few words on Red Wings fans. So, this is where the outcome unfurls and the truth is being told.
- "Why so few links?" you ask. Well, TSM notes with hockey "over" the MSM has little to say. He doesn't know they've made other plans, and hockey will just be distracting to them.
- Rangers fans flash back to their own 1967, except, it was in 1994. I can remember 1994 better than if I were remembering distant memories.
- Although few Pens are actually of age, they took the cup clubbing. Ain't nothing for the cup to shut the club down.
- Crosby attempts to smooth the ruffled feathers of wings captain Lidstrom. Meanwhile, Lidstrom is still waiting for a handshake and can be found at the Joe saying "Have you got a minute? Have you got a year?"
- Five for Howling asks the question no one else has. Let's spread the facts on the floor like a fan.
UPDATED
- TO Sports takes a crack at a mock draft. I've got to get this feeling off my chest: If Tampa drafts Tavares, I will barf.
- Wrap talks Tavares. Her head has no room for him, probably because Cowen is FREAKING HUGE! :)

Hey, know what’s still awesome? Detroit didn’t win the Stanley Cup on Friday, (sorry skinnyfish) and it was a killer game to boot.

It was a great game. I thought the Wings would pull it out in the 3rd with all the pressure they were putting on. Look on the bright side though. With the Penquins winning, they should replace those ’94 Rangers commemorative DVD commercials on the NHL network.
Wings fan by birth. Leafs fan by empathetic association.
Why do you spell it with a q?

yes you should.
still, the lyric I’m using is practically the same as Green Days. Easy enough to choose one over the other…

Even though Cowen would be great I’m going to be pretty disappointed if we don’t trade up.
A Nation of Masochists a blog dedicated to Toronto sports fans, who are continually punished but keep coming back for more.
the more i think about it, the less i want to trade up (although Id still be very happy with Schenn 2.0) I want to get a second first rounder out of Kabby or Kubby

that'd be nice
but if everything is sunshine and roses and Cowen’s knee injury heals perfectly and he becomes everything he was projected to be, then having a top 4 d unit of Cowen, Kabby,, Kubina and Schenn would be re-donk-ulous

beat me to it. Assuming the judge sides with Moyes the NHL would appeal which the article says would result in the team being in limbo.
What would this mean for
a) the draft? Would the Coyotes still be able to draft or would they be in the same position as the St. Louis/Saskatoon Blues? If they can’t draft the Leafs move up to 6 without making a move.
b) next season? The NHL claims that scheduling for next season is one reason the Coyotes can’t move this year, how can they handle the scheduling then if the Coyotes franchise cannot operate?
A Nation of Masochists a blog dedicated to Toronto sports fans, who are continually punished but keep coming back for more.
As far as the draft is concerned, I don’t see how the question of ownership affects the ability of the GM to make a selection. It’d be wonderful for the sake of our draft position if they dropped out, but I seriously doubt that will happen. They’ll probably draft ahead of us, regardless of where they play next year.
As for next season, the NHL is blowing a lot of smoke when they say that they couldn’t pen them into a schedule. The league has moved other teams on expedited terms with “special permissions”, so we know that it’s possible. Granted, they probably will be a pain in the ass about it, and hold things up as long as possible. In any case, Balsillie said he is willing to wait a year to move them if need be.
As for the draft when the Blues were set to move to Saskatoon they were not allowed to draft a player because the ownership mess was not sorted out. I’m not holding my breath but it could happen.
A Nation of Masochists a blog dedicated to Toronto sports fans, who are continually punished but keep coming back for more.
It wasn’t that the league didn’t let them. The owners dropped out of the draft in protest.
