PrintDETROIT @ PITTSBURGH 8 PM EST VERSUS CBC RDS. I am overwhelmed by the shiny newness of the editing pane on SBN. I have no idea what I am doing besides typing out the game thread. The series stands at 2-0 Red Wings but the Penguins have proved they reallllly like to play in their home arena and have taken to barring Michigan natives from buying octopi. OMG I just read on Leahy's twitter that Kris Letang is out, Philip Boucher is in. The last two games have been exactly thrilling since they have both ended with the same score. Except at the end of one of the games Evgeni Malkin punched a dude.

A Yinzer is.....
It’s a slang term(Pittsburghese) for the native residence of the Pittsburgh area. It dies down the farther you get away from the city, but you can still hear it in most W. PA people. Many of the sounds and words found in the speech of Pittsburghers are popularly thought to be unique to the city. This is reflected in the term “Pittsburghese,” the putative sum of these features in the form of a dialect. However, few of these features are restricted solely to Pittsburgh or the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Instead, many of them are found throughout southwestern Pennsylvania.
The Scots-Irish settlers are said to be most influential people for Pittsburghese.

I get so annoyed just because the frigging wings are just so damned efficient. It takes all the fun out of it when it is so bloody obvious they are going to walk off with the cup yet again. Just get the damn thing over and done with, I say!
I love the Stanley Cup presentation traditions so much – the booing of Betteman, the lifting of the cup, the laps, the team photo – that I could watch at least 28 teams celebrate a cup win.
Don’t know that I could sit through a Sens or Habs win, though I did watch the Habs win it in 1993 (and cheered like an SOB when the Flames won it in ’89. I was in a room full of habs fans at the time. Life is a pretty sweet fruit).

They’re the best at it since the Devils in their prime. It’s really quite alarming how they make it look like there are 2x as many defenders as there really are, all blocking any path to the net. Sigh.

How can you break that system anyway? It seems impossible. Perhaps if the pens had someone more power forward-y to bust thru and hang out on the crease? I have no idea. It’s annoying to watch though, and I’m not a pens fan by any stretch. I just am ticked off the series is this one sided.
