In as Few Words as Possible...
The PPPSL is now in full swing. In fact, I'm up later than normal thanks to it.
Clicking through the links, you'll probably notice a trend. Maybe something to do with a certain upcoming day. Maybe something that can change the face and fortunes of an entire franchise over night. Maybe something that many a child dreams of one day attending. (BTW, all this sounds much funnier when spoken in the same manner as the clip.)

I'm off to Michigan, ugh
Hope those of you going to the draft have a great time, and feel free to burn the city down since I’ll be gone.
Here’s hoping the draft is all we hope for and more. I’ll be doing my best to watch it (does Michigan even care about hockey anymore?), but I don’t know if I’ll be able to stop by here or not.
PPPSL
I pulled a McCabe with Hossa scoring into my own net and Cornelius won. Damn you McCabe chanelling yourself through me!

haha, Hossa scored both of the last 2 goals in that game. It’s my only win in the PPPSL, though I haven’t been blown out in any of them…

Quite a game. All of the PPPSL ones have been so far.
I thought the recchi goal was pretty awesome, slot shot, rebound, second shot, rebound, recchi scoops some garbage. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever scored like that in NHL09.

That same day, I was watching the Bruins lose in the shootout to the Penguins during the home opener. They put the halftime score on the jumbotron, the crowd went crazy. I went with my dad, so that means fewer than 12 beers.
Also, 12 beers at gillette is a ridiculous amount of money on booze. Must have been a good night.

In a pinch, he can be a checking-line winger, too.
Most of the goals scored on me are when I’m playing as a defenseman.

leafer and I went to OT last night, lucky bounce bit me in the behind. It was a crazy tight game. I got penalized twice as much as he did though, so I’m lucky to even get that far, it was almost all PK for me…
also, as an FYI, I rock the headset for online games, so if you wanna talk trash, bring it!

Helluva Pitch They Made
When Gustavsson walked into the home dressing room of the Air Canada Centre last Saturday, he was greeted by the jerseys of all the Leaf goaltenders over the years, from Johnny Bower to Turk Broda to Terry Sawchuk to Felix Potvin to Curtis Joseph with, of course, a No. 50 with the name “Gustavsson” occupying the final stall.
“That was a really nice touch,” said Gustavsson’s Toronto-based agent, Joe Resnick

i fear getting too excited for it’s still possible he 1) signs elsewhere and 2) sucks.

Hopefully nobody. I’d like to see him retire. With the injuries piling up (29 regular season games, 6 post season. No points in either) there is little he can do for a team on the ice. I’d like to see him move upstairs for an organization and help out there.

But would he retire into the Chicago or Detroit front office?

9 seasons in Chicago, 10 seasons in Detroit with 2 Cups. I believe he stays in Detroit. Plus he has businesses in Detroit like Cheli’s Chili (which is delicious by the way). I think he stays in Detroit. Obviously not with a position like Yzerman, but maybe as a role players with prospects or even coaching one of the farm teams.

Martin Q. Blank: Don’t you think that maybe you’re just upset because I told you what I do for a living, and you got upset and you’re letting it interfere with our dynamic?
Dr. Oatman: Whoa. Martin. You didn’t tell me what you did for a living…
Martin Q. Blank: Yes, I did!
Dr. Oatman: You didn’t tell me what you did for a living for four sessions. Then you told me. And I said, “I don’t want to work with you any more.” And yet, you come back each week at the same time. That’s a difficulty for me. On top of that, if you’ve committed a crime or you’re thinking about committing a crime, I have to tell the authorities.
Martin Q. Blank: I know the law, okay? But I don’t want to be withholding; I’m very serious about this process.
[pause]
And I know where you live.
Dr. Oatman: Oh, now see? That wasn’t a nice thing to say; that wasn’t designed to make me feel good. That’s a… kind of a… not too subtle intimidation, and I, uh, get filled with anxiety when you talk about something like that.
Martin Q. Blank: Come on, come on. I was just kidding, all right? The thought never crossed my mind.
Dr. Oatman: You did think of it, Martin! You thought it, and then you said it. And now, I’m left with the aftermath of that, thinking I gotta be creative in a really interesting way or Martin’s gonna blow my brains out! You’re holding me hostage. That’s not right.
